God didn't discard Mary. In heaven, she and Joseph will always be seen as hand selected by the Father God for their faithfulness to Him. Our rewards are not on the earth, but our rewards are in heaven.

a hypothetical question must be answered hypothetically.

if I am God, knowing that God respects free-will, He will ask first for His creation's permission to become His instrument for the service of many people.
so, IF I am that kind of God, if my creation says "YES" to my request, I would find high favor of her/him and acknowledge her/his sacrifice in so many ways that I can.

so, about Mary being the instrument of God for the coming of the Messiah for the salvation of mankind, it's certain that God highly favors Mary and acknowledges her in ways that God can.

about Bible-fundies, they don't know how to answer your question or even understand it because they have become very emotional already that they can no longer think (in case they are even capable of it to begin with).

and to people who say the asker is atheist, when did the asker say he is an atheist? just because the asker is asking the fundies does that make him an atheist? is this section Bible-fundies vs Atheist?

that's why it's better to think before you speak. in this case, think before you type.

Did God discard her really? What was implied,we are worshiping a Awesome God. God answers our petitions and request not because we are good. But because he is good. Psalm 51.

So we pray create in me a pure heart,O God and renew a steadfast spirit within me.Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit,to sustain me.

Everything we do and everything we have is from God. Everything! When your spirit is broken and we have a contrite heart ready for love that is when you get God's attention.

God knows us and he knows you. He chose Mary for a time such as this. God made it possible through her to Jesus that we will have the gift of Salvation. So we praise him for his unfailing love towards us and what he did for others. Starting with the Jew and ending with all of us.

Mary should have her place of honor in every Christian Church. Mary was the vessel that God used to bring His only begotten Son into the world. It was a MOST blessed honor to have been chosen for that role.

God has not thrown her out, nor disregarded her at all, at least not in my church.

But as the vehicle by which our Savior was delivered to us, it is up to us to worship Him, and respect her. If Jesus arrived via American Airlines would we all be at the airport worshiping a Boeing 737? Would believers make pilgrimages to Gate 37 to pay homage?

The VATICAN, THE HOLY SEE, elevated Mary to the level of a god by proclaiming her to be Co-Redemptrix.
Mary's suffering AT the cross was that of a mother.
Jesus' suffering ON the cross was that of her Creator, and ours!

Keep a right perspective, please.

Do not mock GOD! Your lack of fear for him will be your doom. Mary was the most blessed woman of human history for being a concieve and deliver the salvation into this world. Whenever you are used by God, you are blessed. You should bow down and worship him ever time you draw breath because each heart beat and each breath you take is one more than you deserve from God for betraying His love.

Who ever said she discarded her. From what I understand she became a Christian and is likely in Heaven now. If you need to drive a nail you use a hammer. If you then put that hammer back in the tool box because you do not need to drive any more nails did you discard it?

I am not God nor I ever will be.

I am worshiping a wonderful God. Mary was honored to give birth to God. She was chosen for very good reasons.
