amd how about even colder then that

I dont know about the temp., but its a good way to get it stolen, this happens a lot--theives just break the glass, grab the pc, and run.

You'll be fine at those temps. Most laptops have a stated operating temp of around 0 degrees C (32 F) - below this the battery starts to struggle.

cold is generally not bad for a computer. however there are some things to consider:
+ condensation
+ batteries dont work when really cold
+ the "L" in LCD is for liquid ...

the temps you describe are no problem. the issues will start when it gets below freezing or if you are in an environment where condensation will happen. that said, if you leave it in your car, warm it up slowly.
