By realising there is no tablet of stone upon which is inscribed 'Life on Planet Earth shall be fair!'

Then, by reflecting on the strange fact that humanity seems to have an inbuilt desire for fairness; where did this awareness of what's fair and unfair come from? Do animals have this sense? Apparently not. C S Lewis observed:

'Creatures are not born with desires unless satisfaction for those desires exists. A baby feels hunger: well, there is such a thing as food. A duckling wants to swim: well, there is such a thing as water. Men feel sexual desire: well, there is such a thing a sex. If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world.'

And so we were - heaven! Jesus said there is nothing hidden that will not be exposed - on the Day of Judgment. Then we'll see 'Fair' - big time!

I don't see life as "unfair" because I don't believe that there's a particular standard or pinnacle at which all is well and nobody suffers. Life is life. It has its ups and its downs. And everybody has ups and downs, no matter where they are stationed in life. The ups and downs are relative. Life is incredible and it's almost unbelievable that we're here. There's nothing unfair about that - we're all incredibly lucky to live at all.

Life IS unfair. The good suffer while the wicked triumph. THIS IS REALITY.

Fortunately, this world is not all there is. God promises justice and redemption in the life that is to come.

Of course, that excuse has been used for millenia to keep the masses down and the rich rulers on top.

unfairness is a perspective. What is unfair to you, might be considered a blessing in a third word country.
We all are given gifts and its how you use them will determine the fullness of your life.

There is a saying that goes.............life is unfair and to make it fair..then make it a relative one..THis idea can be subjective too, how fair is life that you say it is unfair..and how can u say it is unfair when you say its fair...it is a matter of dealing what life brings...live life to the fullest....luck comes with hard work, then you can be lucky, if you spoil your life, the itis wrecked and you can be unlucky...so see, unfairness in life is in one's hand..we make our lives, we build our future, and of course nothing is impossible without God's intervention..for without God, we are nothing!!!

God said in The Bible, Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. How do we as sinners, expect anything less when bad things happen to us? My friend, is life only about good times or is this life about growing and preparing ourselves to live with God for eternity? If we spend eternity with God after we die, shouldn't the first 70-100 years be about God also? How many people have turned their lives over to Jesus Christ after they won the lottery? How many people have turned over their lives after finding out they had cancer? You see, unfortunately, it takes bad things to make us see our need for God. When everything is going right, we tend to forget about God. I know I'm that way. So many people want to stand on their own two feet and proclaim they are a good person and somehow they deserve good things to happen to them. Really? So you don't sin in your thoughts, your words, or the things you do daily? Really? Never? God invented genius so I ask you to trust he knows what he is doing when life takes an unexpected turn. The good news is this life doesn't last forever. 70, 80, 90 years then eternity with Christ if you are a believer. Jesus loves you no matter what. I ask you to pray to Him and ask Him to show you why this is happening in your life. There is a reason. The Apostle Paul said that God uses all things for good, for those who love God and are called according to his purpose. Love Him, obey Him and He will give you peace and joy despite your circumstances.

This is the very reason (or at least ONE of them) that I trust in God.

For the universe to be fair, there MUST be a God who will set all things to right when His time is perfect.

Of course, that's not WHY I believe God exists, that's just one of the many reasons why I believe (or trust) in Him.

Of course, if you REALLY want "fair", then we should be on the cross instead of Jesus. Now THAT'S not fair! I mean, "He who knew NO sin (actually) became sin FOR us"!!! He traded places with us and took OUR place on the cross to die and pay the penalty for OUR sins (crimes against God), so be careful what you wish for - It's not fair that I, a sinner, get to go to heaven just because I repented of my sins and asked Jesus to forgive me and change me, but I'm VERY thankful He did.

Like the old song says,
"I don't know why Jesus loved me,
I don't know why He cared.
I don't know why He sacrificed His life,
Oh, but I'm glad, so glad He did."

"Unfair"? What is your basis of comparison?

"You get what every one got" the incarnation of Death from the Neil Gaiman Sandman comics.

When someone said to Voltaire that life is hard, he replied, "Compared to what?"
