I, personally am against it. My dad however came from China and is a fiercely loyal Chinese man. Hes kinda pissed now since I decided to go as a Kuominang (taiwanese) Solider for Hallowe'en. I dont get it, my familty was quite wealthy in China but twhen the culteral revolution hit, we were left with nothing, the riches my family worked hard to make was taken,so my dad has felt firsthand the effects of communism. But he likes communism! WTF? But he hates Mao Zedong

Your father is torn between his feelings for his homeland and the effects of communism. He is lucky he only lost his possessions, many wealthy people were killed by the communists.
Knowing some people from Eastern Europe who live here, they were happy to see the fall of the Soviet Union and hope to return to the country they left in the 50s.

There is no reason to argue with him, you will not change his mind about how he feels.

Hopefully as China continues to evolve there will be more freedom for its people.

Communist China? China's pretty big so I heard from my parents some parts are communitist and others aren't..
Some ppl are forced to believe what is right and wrong.. others born in a whole they follow in.. It's the same in Korea.. The difference between the north and the south..
I live in Ireland and almost everything is taxed.. and tax is 42%.. But it's considered a democratic country.. With tax like that it might as well be a communist country.. thats just the way it is..

I mean if everyone believe in one thing thats right.. then there is no war.. but in this reality, there isn't much peace..

Should just be a question of China, not communist China.
China is a very beautiful country and as you go through it you don't really notice the communism in a lot of areas, just people living their lives.
Communism is an excellent notion but it can never truly work, too many people that are greedy and want power for it to ever truly work how it should.
To look at most of the people, and speak with them, the Chinese are generally a very nice people that like to have fun and usually enjoy talking with foreigners. They may easily welcome you into their house and offer what they have.
Inside the cities, there is much fun to be had, outside the cities there is a calm and peace in most of the people that it is truly nice to get lost in.
Either way, China and it's people make a great place to see.

the "old" genaration hates Taiwan because they keep blaming all their pain when they were young on Taiwan instead of Mao. it is kind of like the US attacking Iraq, a lot of people hate Bush, but there are still "proud" to be American
