Most of the people there visit a church or some other kind of religious gathering/sermon etc. So If most of them believe in God (or some other kind of Creator or Universal force) why are they so materialistic and aggressive? (well i know many of them are Ok, but that society in general is rotten). Why is it so?

I am a strong Christian, and I despise "religion." Chew on that.

Religion is the cause of much hate, death, and suffering. But religion, in my humble opinion, is very different from faith. I believe that Jesus Christ is Lord, but I don't believe that gives me any right to attack other countries, to insult other people, or to elevate myself higher than anyone else.

Sadly, I am not like most of my fellow "Christians" in this respect. And I dislike them as much as you do.

I'm not a religious person at all, and I live a good life. I don't harm anyone, do bad things, or break laws. More and more of todays younger population are becoming non-religious because of the things that they see and hear about with religions doing crazy things and being to extreme about it.
Thanks for thinking that our society is rotten.
It's easy to see why you might think that, having an outsiders view of the U.S., but the media tends to make things bigger than life, and distort people's perception of how some things really are.
Alot of good things happen here to, and there are more good people than bad. The thing is, the bad things will always overshadow the good. Sometimes you only hear of the bad things that happen, and that will give anyone a bad view of things. Have you ever been here? That might change your view of us.
Have a good day.

Most of my fellow citizens may not consider themselves religious at all. And although many atrocities have been done in the name of RELIGION, you will please take into your accounting that most of these acts have been done by "Men holding religious title while seeking wealth and political power. Their titles which they used for an advantage against other human beings.
That in itself is not something that we can blame the faithful for, nor can it be pinned to GOD or JESUS Of Nazareth.

Can we blame The Prophet Muhammad for the atrocities commit ed by the Wahabist sect of Islam..?

The fact that the Dreams of Avarice infect a large portion of the citizens of America or that we seem excessively violent,
I will say to you that we are no different from another group of people.
The economics may be different, but the pursuits are the same.
However, you are quite correct that this society in general has a rotten attitude. Self seeking, hardly concerned with the general welfare of the country and our fellows. We spend faster than we earn, and we are always after more. It seems that I have heard the death knell sound for this once free society, gone bad.

Because they do not follow what the Bible says. Many claim to read the Bible or be a christian, but very few actually follow the Word of God, and the direction it provides. Hence the problems.

Many even view the Bible as outdated or a nice story book.

Why are you asking only about Americans? Isn't that true in the whole world? Religions pit themselves against each other in every counry. The middle east has been fighting for how long? mostly due to difference in beliefs...that's called history. Read up. It's been going on this way for eons...

Where are you getting your facts from? Most is a larger word that I would use for the religious status of Americans. Americans are too diversified to be lumped under Christian, materialistic or aggressive.

The Scriptures are not about kiss kiss hug hug religion. It is about a war of genetics and the dominion the superior genetics is promised. The violence in the world, not just the U.S., is simply an offshoot of this war, and it is coming to a neighborhood near you soon. For it is time the dominion mandate is manifest, billion will die. Grotis to the Maximus!

Wow... what propaganda have you been reading?

Okay, I personally feel our political system is kinda mangled at the moment. That will be coming to an even keel, I think (and hope) this time next year.

My recommendation would be to spend some time here before you make that generalization.
