There is no reason to believe in "your" god. I have plenty else to spend my time doing, such as, not working and typing in Y/A!

He clearly doesn't exist.
o Nothing requires a deity to be as it is. The universe, galaxies, stars and planets can all be shown to be the result of natural processes. So can life, species and Man.
o God certainly doesn't behave as advertised: notwithstanding historical anecdotes, he never appears, doesn't seem to rescue even the most devout, doesn't prevent disasters from slaughtering even innocent babies. And bad or 'evil' people are just as likely to win battles as the 'good' guys.
o God shows every sign of being a human invention. Rather than an omniscient, omnipotent universe-creator, his behaviour is more that of a oprimitve human despot: he's murderous, capricious, jealous; and he requires worship and subjugation - something a supernatural superhuman would have no obvious need for - but a human dictator would.
o God's 'job' has been steadily rolled back over the centuries, as it became plain that no deity was needed to explain lightning, weather, disease, death or sex. The natural explanations are, however, sometimes complex, and many people find it easier to believe in a human-like, biddable agent rather than unfeeling natural processes.

Not really, I mean the main reason I don't believe is lack of evidence. I would love for there to be an all loving God and an afterlife, a lot of Christians fail to understand that. To be honest, I have tried to pray to God (even though I don't believe, I admit I can be wrong) in an attempt to establish the same connection that many of you Christians receive but it does not accomplish much.
I don't lack belief because I hate the concept, only because there is little to no feedback when I try. The lack of evidence hurts the cause as well.

That is how ALL humans are born. We do not even have the capacity to believe in such things, so of course we don't. Religion is nothing more than a learned experience which differs greatly, depending on the society or culture a person is raised in.
Many Atheists are simply people who never saw anything in religion to change their natural state of being. That is how I am. I have never, ever in my life felt any supernatural or paranormal tendencies.

7 solid reasons to no longer have self assurance in god. a million. All information factors to there being no God. 2. you reside by regulations made up by you. 3. No-one judges you different than your self 4. you're no longer made to sense in charge or valueless for doing what comes needless to say. 5. you might have extra time on your palms to study different books than the bible. 6. You understand that existence easily has no meaning. Sounds undesirable in the beginning up, yet you're easily set loose, and there's a weight lifted off your shoulders. 7. you could sleep in on Sundays! And now for something thoroughly diverse, 7 solid reasons to have self assurance in God! a million. the regulations of existence are deliberate out, you do no longer even could desire to think of. 2. in case you could behave in the international, you're able to do besides the fact which you like for eternity in heaven. 3. loose wine and loose nutrition with each and every communion! 4. All those trip trips! And the supplies that incorporate them! 5. Your existence all of sudden has a meaning, and you're compelled to be charitable. 6. you could desire to as nicely have self assurance in God, because of the fact in case you do no longer and there's a God, that's the fiery depths of hell for you! 7. You get to placed on a cricifix around your neck. (yet you won't be able to placed on a guillotine, electric chair or the different strategies of capitol punishment)

Besides the lack of evidence, Occam's Razor, the problem of evil, and the several contradictions found in the bible are examples to my disbelief. Also the reasons behind the purpose of ancient deities has been explained by reason and science today.

Because look at the world, babies being raped, people being murdered, excrutiating torment. When good things happen, people attribute it to God, and miracles, therefore why is that same God held blameless when horrendous things happen??? I mean, unimaginable human suffering. I am not saying I don't believe, I am more of an agnostic. But - maybe God is really evil, or Satan could be God.....Look at the world! why won't Jesus come floating down if he loves us all soooo much????
Dude.....

I don't see any evidence of a god(s). I do, however, see ample evidence against the existence of a god(s).
Can you give me a good reason why you don't believe in Poseidon, God of the Sea? No, because society has evolved past that and we now know better.

I'm not an atheist but my observation is that they don't want God to be an authority over them. Like the prodigal son, they run from authority and love their independence even if it means rejecting His love.

Oh we understand. It is just that there isn't a single bit of measurable evidence that indicates there is a god. I'm not even sure how a god that has no measurable impact on the universe would matter.
