Australia, like the US, does not have an official language, but the de facto language is English.

The language of the common people may be called Strine - I have a book entitled "Let stork Strine" = Let's talk Australian English. Lived there for 5 years.

Basically it's English and as close to English as is US English.

English. Australia used to be a penal colony for English-born criminals, so English is their language.
