Every few days I take the ready to go Muscle Milk Formula Protein Drinks. However I was reading somewhere that muscle milk has too much fat in their protein drinks. Is this true? Whats the reccomended amount of fat for a Protein Shake? (I have a small frame, however I don't want to gain fat). I've included the nutritional information for the Shake. I usually buy the 500 mL. (The nutritional information for the 500 mL is on the right side of the diagram). Could someone please check out the information from the link and let me know please?

Thank you!

the fats in muscle milk are medium chained triglycerides or MCT's. these are short chained fatty acids that the body uses more like carbohydrates than fatty acids but there is no corresponding increase in serum glucose or insulin when they are metabolized. the shorter chained carbon skeleton inhibits these fats from being converted into lipids and stored in the fat cell "if" there is a caloric excess in the diet.

* I've been using Muscle Milk since it came out around 2001, it's one of my favorite powdered protein supplements

It depends on how you are using the shake, how many calories you burn from exercise, and what you are eating during the rest of the day.

That shake might be fine if your activity level is very high, you are not trying to lose body fat (not overweight), and you are drinking the shake as a meal replacement, not just a snack.

If you aren't burning tons of calories with your workouts, or are overweight, or are eating heavy meals in addition to the shake, then it will probably make you gain weight.
