Ok I have been at my present job for 3 months now and it sucks! I am in college and I work at the front desk at a gym. Although it is a fairly easy job, the pay sucks and so do the hours. Also, all I do all day is fold bucket loads of towels and the trainers and my boss think they are better than everybody else because they are "fit". Oh yea and I hate dealing with the public because I get harassed by a bunch of perverted men. Anyways... I applied to this other job for a receptionist and they pay $1.50 more than I get now and the hours are great and fit perfect with my schedule. I go in next week for a 2nd interview.... if they offer it... would you take it if you were me?

Thanks!

Well, duh! If you hate your job, the hours and the pay, why wouldn't you take the other one??

It sounds like the choice you're trying to make is should you stay in a job that you hate that doesn't pay you enough money or should you take a job that fits much better into what you want to do and pays you more money. Think this through and I suspect you'll be able to come up with an answer that makes sense to you.

In a heart beat! First of all, the hours and the pay are much better, but also, you have to look at the long term of the job, as you may have a greater chance to advance with the other company, especially once you finish college depending on what your degree will be in. also the benefits at the the other company should be better as well. Good Luck!

Yes of course. Is this even a question? You applied for another job because you dont like your present one, why are you asking if you should take it, if its perfect for you?

Hopefuly for you, they offer it. You are putting a lot of energy out there about how you dont like your present job, put more energy into thinking about the good things in the new job.
good luck.

I would take it, as it provides better pay, and better hours. It probably won't be the perfect job for you, but any step in the right direction can make a big difference in how you feel about your job.

Of course! There would be no reason not to. Life will give you these opportunities a lot, and your mental well-being figures in a lot when time to make decisions on jobs. Good luck and I sincerely hope you get it, but don't bring up anything negative about your present job. Just tell them it is boring! (and it doesn't 'challenge' you).

Absolutely. One of the only things I regret from college is staying in my crappy job just because it was easier than finding another one.

if your present job "sucks" then i'd imagine that another, better paying job might help.

Yeah! Sure I would if people don't appreciate me in the other job!

More money, better hours? Why are you even considering staying where you're at?
