I'm going to give you two recipes because one is my favorite and the other is my hubby's fav - we've been married 24 yrs now (my parents have been married 63 yrs and are still alive and kicking). I like chicken better than beef but hubby prefers beef so if your boyfriend likes beef better than chicken, use the second recipe. Both are very easy.

CHICKEN

Take 2 (or 3 if he likes a lot of food) chicken breasts
Pound it until the breast is the same thickness all the way across
Season with black pepper and a little garlic powder
Dip in beaten egg
Dip in bread crumbs
Fry in a little oil until golden brown
Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes in a preheated 350º oven. This will allow the meat to tenderize and finish cooking. The muscle in the chicken will relax. Serve with a milk gravy. GRAVY: Take 2 T butter and melt in a pan. Take 2 T flour and stir into the butter until totally coated. Add milk and stir with a whisk to keep from getting lumps. Add just enough milk to thin it out a little. As it cooks it will try to thicken too much again, add a little more milk. Add black pepper also. Serve over the chicken with a veggie and salad.

STEAK

2 rib eye steaks
black pepper
garlic powder

Place the steaks on a metal oven-proof pan. Sprinkle with the pepper and garlic powder. Place in preheated 400º oven for 10 minutes. Remove and turn over and put back into the oven for another 10 minutes (during this second 10 minutes, you can start heating your veggies - like raw zucchini mixed with summer squash or crookneck squash that has a little water in it). When the second 10 minutes are up, the veggies should be boiling a little, turn their heat off with the cover on, turn the steak heat up to Broil and broil the steak until the fat is crisped (1 minute). Turn the steak over and broil another minute on the other side. DONE!! Drain the water off the veggies, add butter and black pepper and serve with your salad. You could serve the steak with a baked potato also if you want - if so, bake the potato in the 400º oven for 40 minutes before adding the steak.

The idea of steak, potato, salad is good. But my guys love beer can chicken. Get a whole chicken wash and dry it off. Stuff the cavity with fresh basil and chopped onion. Rub the outside with a poultry seasoning or sometime I just use garlic salt and pepper. Drink about half of a beer and set it on the grill, put the chicken down over the beer can. Grill for about an hour, or until done. It is sooo tender and good. Baked potatoes and asparagus or broccoli or a green salad. Try this, most guys love it.

If he likes beer at all make him beer chops.

Slice a whole onion and throw it in the bottom of a crockpot
Crush garlic over it.
Sear your porkchops in a skillet
Throw them on top of the onions in the crockpot.
Put a lb or so of baby bella mushrooms on top of the chops
Mix together one bottle of ***** modelo (beer) and a can of cream of mushroom soup and salt/pepper/paprika/pinch of cayene
Poor over all in crockpot
Cook on low for 5-6 hours
Last hour.... mix up some cornstarch and water and thicken sauce... turn the heat up to high and make sure it boils for at least 5 minutes.....
Turn off heat and let cool just a titch

Serve over mashed potatoes

You could add a salad and/or a can of biscuits.

You could do the same recipe with chicken or steak.

note..... when using a crockpot make sure that everything is covered in liquid at all times. If you are making a lot of porkchoppy mcmoots you may have to double the beer and soup.

Simple and wont take a long time.

Chicken Fajitas
What you need:
1 pkg of boneless skinless chicken breast
1 pkg tortillas
8 oz shredded cheese
season salt
fajita seasonings(normally can buy just all in same container)
1 Bell pepper
1 onion

Cut chicken breast into think pieces. Place in a skillet and season and cook. Start cutting bell pepper and onions. Wait until chicken is almost cooked then add bell peppers and onions. Finish cooking all. Heat tortillas on a griddle. Grate cheese and serve.

Hubby loves it and it is easy. Son earned his cooking pin for boy scouts last night by making it. He is 9 yrs old. Follow up by making a desert and you got a nice dinner!

Back when I was dating, I used to impress people when I made my bacon wrapped chicken breast recipe.

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thawed
4 strips of good bacon
4 tsp lemon juice or white wine
4 tablespoons olive oil
Garlic Powder
Italian Herb Blend

Starting at the thick end of the chicken breast, roll toward the thin end. Wrap the rolled up chicken breast with a piece of bacon. Place the rolled chicken breast on a foil lined cookie sheet. Drizzle 1 teaspoon of the lemon juice or white wine over each chicken breast. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil over each chicken breast. Sprinkle a bit of garlic powder on each of the chicken breasts. Sprinkle a bit of the Italian Herb Blend on the chicken breasts. Bake in a 350F oven for approximately 30 minutes.

I always served the chicken with a Caesar salad, creamy garlic pasta, asparagus, and steamed crisp carrots.

For the asparagus, I'd break off the stringy bottoms of the asparagus. Then, I'd put the asparagus in boiling water for about 3.5 minutes. Remove the asparagus from the water and sprinkle them with fresh lemon juice.

Good luck with the dinner. Whatever you make, I hope it turns out wonderfully for you and most of all, I hope your boyfriend appreciates your efforts.
