I am flying from california on 16th march at 18.29 I arrive in London at 14.55.Im told its a overnight flight so am I arriving in london on the 16th or 17th.

On the 17th. All flight times are given as local time. California is approx 8 hrs behind London (therefore London is approx 8hrs ahead of California), so given the actual time spent flying your arrival time is 14.55 on the 17th.

Overnight means the night has passed so the 17th of March should see you safely in London.

London will be 8 hrs ahead of California and judging by the times the fligh is gonna take a little over 10 hours so you'll be touching down in London on the 17th.

It's the 17th you arrive on, because you're travelling east, london is hours ahead of the US.
