Love is not selective, just as the light of the sun is not selective. It does not make one person special. It is not exclusive. However, the intensity with which true love is felt can vary. The bond that connects you with a person you are "in love" with is the same bond that connects you with the person sitting next to you on a bus, or with a bird, a tree, a flower. Only the degree of intensity with which it felt differs.

What is God? The eternal One Life underneath all the forms of life. What is love? To feel the presence of that One Life deep within yourself and all creatures. To BE it. Therefore, all love love is the love of God.

the true self does not neeed to identify with a name, but long ago the word GOD was pinned to the universal great all knowing , always present consciousness. The ego mind could not identify with that or compete with that and still remain in the past or the future because when it was asked of "GOD" what is your name? God said, "Tell them I am the I AM", not the I was or will be but always present always now, which totally excludes the ego.
So to exclusively Love God you must love Him in spirit not the ego, that is what is meant when God said I made man in my image.

Bless you believer you almost connected the dots to how fundamentally flawed are ideals of love are, AND the dysfunctions almost all human relationships!!!! You need to come help me in the Relationships category, but you almost made another wonderful point. BY the very existence of religion we have practiced exclusivity, to the point of being prideful, therefor, sinful. So by the very nature of its existence religion is sinful. You wonderful spiritualist you!!! But yea almost made it, my most quoted phrase:

Love is an emotion, its actually the rawest, most primitive emotion whose job it is to excite feelings, and all other emotions we feel. Anger, disgust, Ecstasy, all because of love!

Just like what you were getting at in your Frist article, someones been reading about Emotional Intelligence, are your pretty handing with observations, keep up the good work, I love people like you!!! Are rather I feel good feelings of warmth, and possibilities from people like you, because I love you.

I think one way to determine the quality of love is to note whether it reaches out to others or if it closes in on its self. Real love spreads outward. This is how I think about it.
