I put some peach Bed & Body works lotion on my legs this morning to make them less dry. My halloween costume is a tad short, so I wanted them not to be all dead skinnish you know? Okay so we didn't have any other lotion in the house besides Bed & Body Works products... Everytime I use their brand of lotion, {if i put it anywhere besides my hands} I get a slight rash, and an almost unbearable itch!? Is this because I am allergic to their lotion?
If so, why doesnt the rash/itch occur on my hands?
Thanks...

If you check out the label you will probably find the lotion contains parabens and formaldehyde. These are very common skin irritants and unfortunately, most lotions and creams are toxic nightmares...a regular Halloween scare every day of the week. Read the label and ask yourself, is this chemical soup what I really want to put on the largest organ in my body (your skin).
The skin on the palms of your hands and back of your hands is a bit tougher and thicker because it is more exposed to the elements than other parts of your body (say your legs). So, just don't use that lotion! If you are interested in less toxic alternatives for skin care, follow the links I provided. The first is an article about the dangers of formaldehyde in common products and the second is to some lotions and stuff and don't have formaldehyde, parabens, or lanolin.

Your hands have thicker skin...and also you probably shave your legs, and scented lotion in particular can be VERY irritating. Avoid using heavily scented lotion on the parts of your body where you shave.

"dead skinnish" super exfoliant is equal parts of mayonaise and salt. Rub on, wash off. really.
