No, I don't think she has cancer. Most likely, she has cholecystitis ( infammation of the gallbladder) or cholecystitis ( stones in the gall bladder) . That's why the doctors want to schedule her for Cholecystectomy or removal of the gallbladder
.

Her symptoms of vomiting is definitely related to gallbladder attacks.Esp when she eats a fatty diet. And most likely, she hasn't been able to keep food down due to the vomiting. Thus this makes her weak and lacks energy. Another reason for the lack of appetite and lost of weight might be due to anxiety from the forthcoming surgery.

Her anxiety and depression might also be related to her OCD.

Other causes for her vomiting could be attributed to her hiatal hernia or stomach flu. Bacterial infection of the stomach usually involves the bacterial organism of H. Pylori ( Helicobacter Pylori) New research suggests that gastritis and ulcers are triggered by bacterial overgrowth, rather than by stomach acidity. The sample obtained of her stomach contents will definitely reveal if that is the culprit.

Antibiotics in this case would certainly clear that up.

So, reassure her, that she doesn't have a terminal illness such as cancer. And the operation even though major have little side effects.

She's lucky to hae a caring friend in you.!

Start eating Yogurt. Get the kind that says "active bacteria". Everyone's gut (from birth) is loaded with lots of kinds of good bacteria - and you couldn't live without them because they assist digestion and actually produce many beneficial nutrients from the food you eat.

But there are bacteria bad for your gut. Yogurt's good bacteria can croud out the bad.

The antibiotics will kill both good & bad bacteria. So she needs to keep adding Yogurt's good ones.

Also Yogurt is much easier on the digestive system than almost any other food.
