I would think that would be a motor whose shaft (and its own shaft bearings) are used to support the weight of the driven parts. A residential sink garbage disposal with the motor below the grinding chamber supports the moving portion of the grinder.

A motor that runs freely on its own behaves different (in respect of current, rpm, heat dissipation) than a motor which actually drives whatever it is supposed to drive. The latter is called a load bearing motor.
