This has happened to me many times before. Most people who do believe in a GOD are total extremist and when it comes to a discussion like that it always comes down to the question "so then how did we all get here...huh?" well, only because it says so in a book.. it isnt 100% proof.
I respect people with others beliefs and I never talk down on them. Only because I do not believe in god doesnt make me worship satan.
I believe in myself, and the people around me. I believe that I have to DO SOMETHING. I think that you can pray as much as you want, but in the end it comes down to you and what you will do about it.

That is what they believe and they want to save you. They believe that the ultimate punishment for not believing is hell and they don't want that for anyone. They are suppose to be recruiting for God, that's what the bible says to do. They mean well.

You said I believe in myself, and the people around me. I believe that I have to DO SOMETHING. I think that you can pray as much as you want, but in the end it comes down to you and what you will do about it. They believe that too. It's called free will. God can't make you do anything because he gave you free will. He can only guide you and direct you, it's all up to you.

I don't know what I believe, or if God is real or where we came from. Maybe someday I will but defiantly not if it's forced upon me. Some Christians don't understand that it turns some people away by pushing the word on others.

For me it comes down to this. God has said that we can't work our way into heaven - no amount of good works will pay for all the sins we commit. There are just too many of them. If we don't deal with our sins somehow before we die then we can't spend eternity with God - He is holy. He knew that we couldn't pay for our own sins so He sent us Jesus to pay that price for us. Only He can do it. All you have to do is repent of your sins and believe in Jesus. Give Him your heart. Because if you don't, you will die with your sins still weighing on your account and then it will be too late for them to be paid for. And you have already been told where you will go then. You don't have to go there though, please understand it. And also remember there is nothing you can do other than what I told you above. That's it.

I am sorry if Christians have told you this in an unkind manner - that's not how we are supposed to act! We are supposed to be kind and loving with people, not rude and nasty.

As for the "how did we all get here....huh?" question...we may not have 100% 'proof' for creation (although I think it is an obvious fact, not everyone else does! LOL). But where is your 100% proof that God didn't create us? Were you there? No, you weren't, no more than I was. You can't 100% prove that God didn't create this place. You also can't prove 100% that He doesn't exist. You can't see the entire universe and you can't know everything - it is entirely possible that He exists somewhere out there where we can't see Him, or somewhere in that knowledge that we just don't possess yet.

Let's look at it scientifically...

There are only two possibilities: A. God exists, and B. He doesn't.

In case A, I'm sure God would be a much more broad-minded being than we can ever possibly be. In that case, he would surely forgive us for not believing in his existence.

In case B, it wouldn't matter much either way, except that you would be wasting a lot of your time and money on believing in something that wasn't there.

So, I surely endorse your view. I would go so far as to say that it is better to be an atheist or an agnostic than to be a fanatic.

i completely agree with you you can't believe something just because somebody wrote it in a book. To me its mind boggling how someone can believe all that bull. They're are all in one of the most biggest cults ever! I feel bad because they're all gonna be very disappointed.......anyways on to answering your question that's how some people were raised to believe wrong or not. They think that if you live a certain way and do certain things you guaranteed a place in heaven. But they need to look at their own words because in that bible it says only a certain amount of people are going to be taken up. To me it sounds like only children the number is so small!

You are going to hell .....don't you just love it .
The great and almighty god of love will punish you forever in hell.
Sounds like a fair and loving god to me. HA

Why does the bible say the wages of sin is death ? Does this mean we pay twice for our sins ?
Why was Jesus in hell ? (acts 2: 27 ,31 &32 )
Why does the bible at Eccleaesties 9:5 say the dead are conscience of nothing ? If so why punish for ever if people won't know there being punished ?
Why in Revelations does it say death and hell will be thrown in to the lake of fire , meaning it will be no more ? Is that eternal?
Is the bible full of lies?
Is the chuirch and the so called word of god wrong.

Next time some one tells you that just answer ...O so you don't know your own bible then.I thought you said you where a Christian.

There is a concept that I've always found interesting...
"the afterlife that you end up in is not where you deserve to be, but where you believe you deserve to be."
As a believer in reincarnation I feel that the non corporeal afterlife is a transition between physical lives, and as such is neither bliss nor torture.

So what do you believe you deserve in the 'here after'?

I think whether or not we believe in god we all have some basic concept of right and wrong and are simply judged by that. people who do believe in god are probably judged more harshly because they should be setting an example.

First of all, Jesus said it, not us. He preached more about hell than heaven. He said, "if you don't believe in Me you will die in your sin." He said, "I am the resurrection and the life, He who believes in Me though He may die, he shall live." God says that both religious and irreligious people will be in hell. It was the religious crowd that Jesus condemned the most. Without Jesus, no one has any hope. He was the only one who kept the law, lived perfectly, and so died for His people. For those who reject Him and do not want Him, His death accomplishes nothing for them. For those who respond to His love, His death gives His people life, forgiveness, hope, love, purpose, freedeom. Please respond to the love of God in the person of Jesus Christ. He did it all so that you can have it all.

Hell is a state of mind...not a place. People who interpret the Bible in a literal sense don't seem to "get" this...and miss the entire big picture. No one can save or damn you. Only YOU can. God is within....this is the essence of Jesus' teachings. If you don't believe in God, then that is your choice! Which I totally respect.....

Sounds logical, I think we all go to a place after we die, but nobody knows for sure where we go. Some people need religion to make them be better human beings, but as we all know, religion can also make the worse human beings.

For the record, I would never say anyone is going to hell, because, I don't even know if there is one....

Happy Halloween, BTW :)
