1) By holding onto Christ
2) We grow in grace as a result
3) He is the One who is in control. Without the head, the rest fails.

All parts are important in the body....especially the ones which are unseen (i.e. the heart).......but without the head (Christ) the body will die.

(1 Corinthians 11:3) But I want YOU to know that the head of every man is the Christ; in turn the head of a woman is the man; in turn the head of the Christ is God.

(Ephesians 4:15) But speaking the truth, let us by love grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ.

The head is Christ Himself...

1. We have be the light of Christ in loving everybody we meet for they are the children of God too... Or maybe in the other words, We have to do truth while we love someone. We do truth for we loving, God and people.
2. If we hold truth in love, we'll be the favor one just like David and Mary Magdalene. And also affect anybody who don't know CHrist, The'll see Christ in our doings...
3. He leads us by giving us Vision which has been writen in the bible.

1) We hold to truth in Love by complete and absolute complaince to the Word of God. Total Obedience according to the knowledge you posses.

2) You can't grow properly without boundaries, the same way you can't grow trees if they're too close to each other. The boundaries are in fact the Word that we obey.

3) Christ being the Head is simple, he's on top of all that I am. He guides me (I obviously have to allow myself to be guided). Biologically the Brain is in the Head, so if Christ is my Head (Brain) He makes my decisions and tells my body what to do. (This is all in accordance with my submission of course).

The truth recommended by Paul is the whole Gospel which centers around Christ and builds the church into a working unit to throw off all error or waste so it can sustain itself like the human body.

The love of Jesus Christ, the love of God, is the most important aspect of our faith. We can study the Bible and be Bible study wizzes, but if we have no love, it doesn't mean much.
As we love the Lord we grow in our service to him. We find we can serve the Lord in large ways and small ways. Serving the Lord is the purpose of life.
Jesus Christ, the Word of God, becomes our "head," that is, our focus and our leader. We serve in all ways we can...we become "his body."
I am an Evangelical Christian and do not ascribe to the literal translation of that verse by some mainstream sects...that Jesus Christ will return to be the head of the church and the church is his body, which will form a type of theocracy upon the earth. To me that sounds like utopianism.

Hi Sandy,

Christ is the Head of the church. His word is the ultimate authority in all things.

We hold the truth in love by our obedience to the word of God. We must obey even if the truth hurts. We must study to show ourselves approved of God rightly dividing the word of truth in all things. We must not compromise the word. We must stand on the word of God even if we have to stand alone. We can't flinch to the left or to the right. We must stand tall for Jesus Christ. We must always do what is right and pleasing in the sight of God. We cannot afford to take chances with our salvation. We must walk in the light of his word. We must order our steps in his word.

Secondly, We must contiually grow in Christ through study of the word and prayer. We must pray without ceasing. In other words we must be in an attitude of prayer at all times. We must pray for one another. We must pray for the weak, fallen and disollusion ones.

Thirdly, We must recognize that indeed Christ is the head. I am a debtor but God is the owner of it all. All that I have belongs to him because he is the great "I AM". He is Alpha and Omega. He is the cornerstone. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He is my Lord and my God.

John 3:16
Romans 10:9

Ty Sandy for this question.

1 How do we hold to truth in love?

God IS love! Without love we cannot hold to the truth!!!

2 How does this affect our growing up into Him?

My flawed human nature must die out, so My Lord can rise up in me.

I love the verse-based song "It is no longer I that liveth, but Christ that liveth in me!"

3 How does Christ being the Head apply to you as part of the Body?

I pray directly to God (not Mary as in my RC days) ... and I take Our Lord's Holy Word as the fundamental truth and standard we hold to (the pope is not the head of the Body of Christ...our Lord is!).

I'm sorry RC guys, I love you, but I am PROTESTant!!!

God's Word says it. I believe it. Thayt settles it! I guess I'm a "fundie". I cleave to Hs Word, which is TRUTH, and His Spirit, which teaches us to hold to truth in love!

Blessings,
Micheal P
ps: enjoy this day

It's like this;
Do you remember the way you began? You started trusting God, your heart turned towards Him through Jesus Christ, and you became a habitation of the Holy Spirit?

That's how we are supposed to continue.

We took a part of God's word; (that Jesus Christ rose from the dead and paid the price for our sins, and by believing in Him our sins are washed away, we are then counted as righteous because we believed God and are counted as righteous) , then He put His Spirit in us and we became a habitation of the Holy Spirit. Trusting what God said made us a part of Him.

And so we continue. We have laid the foundation of truth; our salvation guaranteed by God, and then we see as we grow other things that God promised.

In trusting Him we may see how we are benefiting from Him, and as the relationship grows we also experience love for Him. Time and time again we find that the difficulties in our lives are overcome thanks to Him; genuine feelings of love are generated because we know that He cares for us and we have peace with Him.

I hope that was clear to you, how can we not love the truth when we hold on to it and benefit from it? Even in hardships we can trust God and He gets us through everything e face, even death. So we don't even have death to fear! What's not to love?

Christ is the head of the Body of Christ. God gave Himself for us to focus on. He is our focus of faith, He is real, tangible, proof. We only understand that because of His Spirit and the will of God; He chose us out of His love for us. And as we grow, we do the things He tells us to do - which benefits the Head, because His Spirit agrees with the Head. They are not in conflict. And so we are no longer in conflict with the Head. And all the parts of the body bear witness of the Head, and support the Head.

It is because of all of this that we are of the Body of Christ. His love and Spirit, and will lead us from this world to the next world, and will endure through us by promise to eternity.

1. By staying close to God in prayer and in all that we do, live for Him!

2. This only brings us closer to our Heavenly Father...

3. Jesus is the savior of the Bible, and is also the head of the church, as He should also be the Head & Savior of our lives!

As long as we carry the love of Jesus in our hearts and in our minds, everything is fine!! ( :
God Bless!!
