No. If a child is a slow learner, it is not from being dropped. Children are more resilient and can withstand falls better then older people can!

If you dropped your child and think that you could have done he/she serious brain damage then I would go to the Doctor/emergency room, right now! But if your child fell of a bed or couch and is acting perfectly normal then I doubt that they will develop any mental defects. My daughter fell off the bed when she was 6 months old and she is far from mentally handicapped

That MAY happen, but it depeends on how the child hit the floor (speed, angle, which side first). Probably, if the child lands head first, he/she may become mentally retarded while if the child lands feet first, he/she may not suffer as much brain damage as when he/she lands head first.

Every baby falls...I was really worried about this as well when my daughter rolled off the bed I was terrified and where it is not something that happens everyday and needs to be prevented, babies fall, they don't leave in bubbles and it happens to everyone. If you are really worried talk to your doctor and watch for developmental signs and share everything with your doctor.

If the baby hit his head he might have brain damage that would cause him to be retarded. Have him examed to be sure there is not any brain damage. But it may not show up until he is older.
