I am traveling on an eight hour trip via Amtrak into NYC this week, first time traveling alone! And I have to pick up the Bergen County Line train through NJ Transit from Penn Station.. I think NJ Transit and Amtrak are both on the second floor.. But I need someone who knows their way around to explain it all to me! Thank you!

When you get to the secaucus station you have to go downstairs to get the the NJ Transit train.
Do not worry. There's many staffers there and they will help you. you need a second ticket for the NJ T. ride. but again they will help you out.

You need to pick up the bergen county line train in Penn Station....That is easy when you are in penn station stand near the BIG BOARD THAT HAS ALL THE TRAINS ARRIVING AND DEPARTING....Just listen to the annoucements for when a train is boarding they will tell you what track to go to and also they will tell all stops that train is making.....IF you need help finding the board just ask the Police they are all over the place...Good luck have fun dont worry Penn station is easy to find your way around its a big circle
