If you haven't heard from a friend for quite a while, do you write or ring them... to see if they are ok or do you just suppose they haven't been in touch because they have nothing of interest to say?

Every second sunday, and usually after church I will spend half an hour or so ringing round a few folk that I havent heard from in a while. Partly to show I care and partly to pick up on the latest goss'. What are sundays for?

I used to always do that, call or contact someone whenever they hadn't been in touch, even if I was the last one to do that. Sometimes people fall out of touch coz they don't want to remain in touch, is what I've learned. I'm boring coz all I do is listen, and my own conversation topics are uninteresting. If someone has a problem, I try to help them solve it, and if someone just wants to grumble or get more attention, then they don't want a problem solved either. So I've come to understand to give people lots of space and wait for them to come to me, unless I see them again and they smile or something, and then I'll think it's okay to talk to them or write. Sorry....

Just call your friend and tell them you're calling to hear if he/she is still alive and let the conversation go from there. It could be that they're busy and just haven't gotten around to keeping in touch.

i go by the baseball rule usually three strikes and your out. three attempts then maybe a later follow up. after that depending how comfortable i felt with the connection i would re-evaluate. then no answer i would conclude this person has maybe lost interest.

It depends if I scrubbed their number. If you removed their number then you can't do much about it. But also I sometimes think that if you were the last person to get in touch and they don't recipricate, then perhaps that communicates that they don't want to stay in touch. You can't force friendships.

LIFE GETS PRETTY CHAOTIC SOMETIMES, AND WE DO TEND TO LOSE TOUCH. BUT I DO MAKE IT A POINT TO CALL OR EMAIL A FRIEND THAT I HAVEN'T HEARD FROM IN A WHILE JUST TO LET THEM KNOW I CARE..

Go ahead and call them. Never wait for others to do things. Take action yourself.

Give them a call - they might be waiting for you to! Carpe diem!
