Ive never seen an SK cutting hair, only SH's. So unless the Navy merged the 2 ratings, you probably won't be cutting hair.

Stop crying!!! SK is the rating that you chose not SH like your retarded Marine friend told you. SH's are the ship's barbers among a bunch of other things. Do YOU know what rating you chose? SK is storekeeper. SH is Ship's Servicemen. Two very different jobs. IF you are a SK you deal with the supply and inventory of the entire ship. If you are an SH you could be the ship's barber or work in the ship's store. Both jobs are extremely important to the entire ship. Being a cry baby now is going to get you targeted on the ship until you change your crappy attitude. WHATEVER the Navy Classifier told you is the job you will be doing. You read the job card they gave you and that is your job. Why would you listen to a Marine anyway? Marines do not know the Navy jobs so you getting all worked up is stupid. Relax, and be confident with your choice just like you were when you chose it. Every person and every job in the Navy is important. SK or SH you will quickly learn how important you are to other people and how much other people will depend on you doing your job well. Get motivated, stay positive and do the best job you can and your advancement will come along with it. Having a crappy cry baby attitude will get you nowhere. It is all on you on how well you will do.

i used to be an ak in the navy, and you will be working in a shop or a storeroom, you will be doing inventory and stocking, but no hair cutting, thats what you get for asking a marine what happens in the navy, no disrespect toward the marines but it is not the same brach of service.

I'd guess that's a supply job. When you get out you can work as a supply tech or Materials Handler.
