Dig a hole and bury it

This is a very good question. Today, most dermatologists agree that if a mole is on the FACE, (as opposed to other areas where direct sun exposure is less apt to occur frequently over time) is PROMINENT (large, raised) and located within the "facial triangle"(the area of your face starting at the top of your nose and extending out across your cheeks) then it's a wise preventative measure to have it REMOVED. These are precisely the type of moles which studies have shown to be the most vulnerable/susceptible to malignancy later in one's life.

The mole can be removed as a minor surgical procedure in the doctor's office, using a local anesthetic. Depending on it's size, depth and color, it may/may not require closing the incision with sutures after it's removal. Colorless moles (as well as moles on or near the nose)tend to send out deeper roots than what is normal.

You can go to your doctor who will remove it for you, my sister had a big mole that was in an awkward place and her GP removed it for her at the doctors surgery and it didn't take long, it of course depends where on your face its placed and how awkward it is, but you have to keep a very close eye on moles, checking that they don't go red or itch etc as they can turn cancerous, so a good idea to get large unsightly moles removed but its best that you ask your doctor for professional advice, good luck!

If it worrys you go see your doctor and tell them. They will be able to put your mind at rest on whether its an issue or not and will be able to arrange for you to have it removed if it worries you cosmetically. Moles are normal - everyone has one somewhere. Keep on eye on it and if it changes colour or it looks like its bleeding the colour around the edges or changes size in any way go see the doctor and get it checked out.

There's nothing you NEED to do with it unless it bothers you in some way. If it has changed shape or color or texture or something like that recently, you need to have it biopsied. If you just feel that it's ugly or detracts from your face - you can see a Dermatologist and have it removed.

Does it bother you or has it changed in anyway? Even if it has not changed, I would get it removed by your doctor with a local in their office. He/she can send it to the lab for a cancer test. I had that done but it was not on my face. It's better to be safe than not.
