Is this question supposed to be a joke? Rush Limbaugh avoided service in Vietnam by avoiding being drafted. First he avoided service by a college deferment but then he dropped out of college. Next, he used the excuse of a pilonidal cyst, a treatable ailment. He has equivocated (to put it nicely) about the reason for his medical disqualification. Rush has also referred to soldiers who criticize the Iraq War as “phony soldiers.”

His qualifications to be on the Joint Chiefs of Staff are nonexistent.

Initially I thought NO WAY, but then I remembered that Bush ducked his service, Chaney only shoots his friends, and Rumsfeld had a warlord messiah complex - almost makes Rush look overqualified.

Still - maybe the service persons deserve a professional soldier who'd actually have some idea what he's asking the troops to do, not some loudmouth who rants & raves without thinking of the consequences.

well if Hilary can be Commander In Chief with no prior military service , why would Rush not be a good Joint chief of staff? Bill Clinton never served. Him and Hilary were war protesters educated under communist teachers.

Yes, and hopefully it will be electrified. I used to enjoy him and agreed on some of his views. That was a long time ago. I truly think he is losing his mind sometimes. Shows what drug use can do to a person.

No, you may not have noticed, but he's not in the military. He is actually doing more impacting work in his present position.
