Nothing says Christmas to me like "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. The 1951 version with Alistair Sims as Scrooge is awfully good; he's obviously enjoying himself! The 1938 version with Reginald Owen more closely follows the book. The recent version with Patrick Stewart is not too bad, either!
My brother, on the other hand, finds the first two "Die Hard" movies to be his favorite Christmas movies...go figure!

It's A Wonderful Life is THE Christmas film!
Scrooged was funny and I think really any decent version of A Christmas Carol is a must.
Viv says Gremlins and Singing In The Rain but he doesn't understand that George trying to kill himself and a guy being scared out of his wits by ghosties is the true spirit of Christmas!

I love Home Alone. The first one. It is funny and has a happy ending. I also like National Lampoons Christmas Vacation. Classic.

My favorite growing up was Santa Clause the Movie with John Lithgow and Dudley Moore.
I had a crush on the little homeless boy!

A Christmas Story is brilliant, its a really christmassy film about a boy who wants the number one toy of that christmas.
Also Miracle on 34th street (1994 version) very Christmassy
