I checked the MSDN forums, and it sounds like this is a problem with your install media, as people who reported this problem found that it went away when they tried a different install disc. The disc may be damaged. Try exchanging it for a new copy.
You can also try uninstalling any previous versions of Office you have installed, just in case the installer is looking in the wrong place.

This version of MS Office is not available to the general public. It is only available to businesses as 'Volume License only'. However, it is the most popular version of Office 2007 to be illegally downloaded. If this applies to you its better you don't install it. There are countermeasures in place to limit its utilities and identify the end-user (you). If this is indeed how you attained this software then I can suggest a corruption or error while downloading (illegally).
