I heard a few months ago that Sen. Villar has authored a certain House Bill which aims to put 'label' on imported toys. I want to write about it in our campus paper but I can't find exact reference regarding it. I tried searching it in the internet but got no results. Was the 'toy bill' just a hoax? Any link to the bill is greatly appreciated.

Regarding Philippine law on imported toys, sorry to tell you we haven't got any republic acts, promulgated bills, etc regarding the recent incident of toys imported mostly from China which has a lead content and is distributed locally from the brand name of FISHER'S PRICE of China.

If you heard a few months that Senator Villar is sponsoring a bill which regulate toys such as aforementioned herein, then it is still debated in the senate so probably it will take more months, worst years to pass it and sign by the President and making it a law. Because to tell you frankly, regarding our Philippine law some of which are already obsolete and outdated, some are even in the Spanish era from the time of Jose Rizal and other past President such as Sergio Osmena and Manuel L. Quezon. Now here comes a scandal regarding these toys, can you imagine the time of the Spanish and the American in the Philippines then to be holding a Barbie doll in your hand in the 1930's? Of course not, they donot even invented toys probably by then. The only toys popular during those time is the two cans of milk tied together to a string and being pulled by kids.

No its not a hoax, it is really a bill to be debate in the senate floor by none other than the senator Villar, depending it and asking for prayer to let it pass, first and second reading so the saying goes. If these is regarding your campus paper I suggest you go directly to the senate and approach the senator himself and ask for a brief summary of the bill to present in your school paper, instead of searching the network for something which is not even there yet. If you live in Manila and take the bus to where the senate hall of the Philippines is, yes I know you know where it is. So why not give it a try, and know the senator first hand, it is not SIPSIP just doing your homework is what counts most.
