System is not booting and my attempts at repairing may be doing more harm than good. I'm prepared to buy back my sanity from anyone who can walk me through getting my OpenSuse 10.2 server back to life and Plesk 8.2 serving client sites again.

Well, I can help you a little. If the system is not booting, forget the Plesk at the moment. It is an Suse problem. Plesk runs on top of the system, the system has to boot first then Plesk loads.

You should be getting some sort of error message on boot, what is it?

If it fails the boot loader, Try the boot repair. If I am not mistaken you can insert the CD, boot and "repair" the boot loader from the CD. But only if that is what is failing?

Do you have site backups? (I hope so)
Are you co-located or self hosting?

I can attempt to help but I don't run Suse - found other OS were more suited to me. CentOS, Fedora etc.

email me and I'll see if I can help?
I also host so I can ID with your pain, I just thru Plesk and Ensim out the door as they just cost way toooooo much for what they do.
