I want to connect my canon miniDVcamcorder to my laptop so that I can make CD's of the recordings.

The guide says I need a DV cable IEEE1394
The 4 pin goes in my camcorder.
Now I am confused as what should be the pin that goes in my laptop. Is it 4, 6 or 9 pin

Again which port at the back of my laptop it should go.

Can anyone describe it so that I can find it on my laptop.
There is one port with the picture (lololo) and another one with (lol). The third one I know is for printer.

I have USB ports.I use this to download the pictures from image card

Thank You

The D500 does not have a firewire (IEEE1394) connection.

You will need to use a newish desktop and probably need to install an add in card. They are very cheap, often bundled in with video editing software.

Video uses a lot of disk space, approx 13Gb/hour and needs fairly fast transfer rates.
