I like the feel of mud between my toes but it scares me putting my feet in mud.

Not really. Usually it's pretty chilly here when it rains; even in the midst of summer, once the heat breaks and the rain comes the temperature drops dramatically. While I don't mind getting my feet wet even in the cold, I get too cold if I get wet all over. Nor do I like stuffy, plastic rain coats. I suppose I would like all those fun rain activities -jumping in puddles, dancing in the rain, etc- much better if I lived in a warmer climate!
Oh, and it's also lost some of its charm since I grew up and had to do my own laundry. Now I know why my mom complained when I got mud splattered all over the jeans she'd just washed the day before! :-P

When I was a a teenager and right back through to when I was a child I loved it. Splashing my feet around in cold puddles of water after it rained was too good to resist. It felt great too. I would encourage everyone to try it.

Yes I love to do that during and after it rains, just one of those things I guess. I like the feeling of cold water around my feet, it has a unique feeling.
