I ve already lost the joy and now I am losing interest fast. The site just isnt the same anymore.
Yahoo is closing down their 360 early next years, so Im thinking in light of what Gladys found out when she rung them that Y!A might also close down. Anyone heard????

We've only been coming onto this site since we first got our laptop which is about 3 months ago now. In that time we've seen a huge change in the way the Seniors section is. Due to the continuous troll activity, reportings n violations some members were moved into action and started the Rejects n Outlaws on the Groups section of Yahoo. Unfortunately, this section will never be the same again as YA want all the sections to follow the guidelines to the letter and they have been extremely pedantic of late. 360 is definately closing early '08 and joining up with Mash. We've been getting notices about it over at 360. We'll hang on for grim death until the doors close lol. Some people are experiencing more problems than others. They should follow the old saying " If aint broke...don't fix it"

I never had a 360, but I heard it was closing down. I haven't heard anything about Y/A closing down. The site has changed and a lot of it is not good. Still I do enjoy it and it's great when we get some new folks who enjoy it the way we do. I'm flipping back and forth from Y/A to our 'reject &outlaws' site and answering what I can. It does take time, so I don't always answer as many questions as I did, but I'm going to hang in here awhile longer and see how it goes. I hope you will too.

Haven't heard anything , there has been a change in ceo's and that may account for things changing.

YA was originally supposed to be a help to others who couldn't find what they were looking for when the yahoo'd something in the search engine.

However the homophobes, anti women, anti old , anti disabled, took it over and with their nonsensical diatribes turned it into something else.

It wasn't meant to be a chat site either. That's what yahoo groups are for.

You can't really restrict anyone from coming into an area, and I don't think all the young people who post here are obnoxious trolls, but too many are.

I hope it doesn't close down, you can have some interesting discussions if you just ignore the trolls and the obnoxious rabble.

College is WAY more fun than high school. The person who said that high school is the best 4 years of your life is totally wrong. In college provided you can get out of your parents house you can do pretty much whatever you want. You can go crazy partying or you can just do crazy stuff that your parents would not let you do like going to get pie with friends at 4 AM. Its kind of funny. I had a really bad high school experience. I needed therapy... College is awesome and I am not even doing the drunken party scene. There are other ways to have fun also. So have fun in college but remember you are there for school so don't blow it off school.

I never understood the Yahoo 360...I think it was an attempt to conunter My space (now out of date). It never really took off. Answers is loosing much of its allure also, as I see fewer and fewer answers in all sections. Let's face it, anything that wast to have been asked has been asked, the 'vaults' are stuffed with answers if anyone would take the time to look.
Things seem to have calmed down here, many new faces, some smart @$$es as usual , but other than that, nothing terribly new. Again about all the questions have been answered...little left to say. The board seems to be limited to a few members , but I have the hang of it now and it is easy to use. Hope all is well with you, dear heart. . I am up with one of my headaches....they seem to be every night lately. Did you get a chance to see Dragonmax's new website? Take a look. Phil

I don't know what the 360 is? But I do hope that yahoo doesn't close down. I feel safer asking questions here than in chat rooms, because of viruses, (is that a silly thought?) and here you get feedback from people all over the world, which I think is wonderful! Jilly, I have not been on here all that long, but I have seen some of the problems but I am an optimist and hope it will get better...please hang in there!

I agree Jilly, it does seem a little bit more subdued. Maybe just a lull since we had been attacked by trolls, I hope things pick back up.

My sense from talking to them is that they are looking into ways to make it better, but the number of users and abusers far exceeded anything they were ready for. I'm going to stick it out and see what happens. I've been beaten down by bigger things than those trolls, and I've always survived.

Also, I finally got an email reply from them with this link, just in case you were not aware of it . . .

I haven't heard about any of this. I'm not a user of 360, I never understood it. I did get into the "outlaws and rejects" group(took a while to find a name it would accept). But once I got there, I couldn't make heads or tails out of what it was all about or how to use it. So I asked to be unsubscribed from it. Y!A is so easy, it's just a shame it's taking a nose dive.

If we all fade away from Y/A I don't think we will lose contact. We will just have better communication @ rejects & outlaws.
Then again the trolls may get bored. I think some of us have stopped asking serious questions about dealing with life as a senior or our parents because all the reporting detracted from actual helpful exchanges.
Hang in there Seniors and see ys @ rejects!

I am not at all happy with what is happening in here. But I am not about to leave the site to the trolls and the self-styled police.

Repeat after me...be a duck. Become a duck. Let this crap just sheet off your back.

And no, I haven't had any updates from Gladys. Is it a new post on rejects?
