As if it helps a "stuck" computer! Haha!
Like tapping a TV or radio in the day.

All the time....as if it's somehow going to make some kind of difference to its functioning!! It's funny. Remember how old style TVs could be 'tapped' and it would actually improve the signal sometimes albeit temporarily. I think it's a thing of us humans liking to think we're boss and still have control over these things - simplification of these technologies makes it all more manageable and approachable. Either that or we just don't think and the frustration of it all leads to pure aggression!!

(Bj)...I shout at the laptop especially if I think it's taking a long time to load something or when I'm writing something and hit the wrong letter I call myself allsorts. Tc thinks its funny when I'm sat saying stuff like " you stupid/silly cow, what did you go n do that for!" or "Oh come on! For crying out loud!" As for the TV....we both shout at that....Tc especially when the football is on but then I think that's something most men do. I've passed this compulsion onto our daughter coz when she's watching TV in her bedroom you'd think there was a roomfull of people in there with her the way she goes sometimes!!!! Maybe it is definately a learned behaviour coz my parents used to do it all the time!!

Oh YEA!!!!. In fact at work one day we were having a problem with a leak tester that measured KPA leakage and were controlled by a 'computerized sensor measured leakage device that tested brake calipers . We had different boards inserted in these much like memory is installed in a hard drive. Every morning( actually every shift (all these boards had to be calibrated (set to a certain # every shift and if they wouldn't 'hold' these calibrations and zeroed in as well. One day we were having trouble with a board in a tester's bank and the # were rolling , like a channel on TV (old black & white TV). With the electricain and the Engineer looking on I slapped it with a pair of Channelocks( they are like pliers but with Adjustible jaws). They both jumped back, surprised and a little angry, and said to me 'Don't you know this is a delicate instrument and should not be mistreted that way)!!"

YEA, I KNOW THAT", AND SO WAS A BLACK AND WHITE TV IN 1965!!!!

I have an older computer and I only have dial up, so a lot of things take a long time to load, and I rather not bother waiting. There are a lot of sites I do not use because of this. But I have to live with what I've got.

Naw, if I have problems, 99% of the time the cause is working the keyboard or the mouse.

I had my little grandson on my lap and was showing him his card he had to move and I put my finger on the screen, he said oh don't touch that screen grandma, it makes daddy realllly mad. When I first got my pc I was ready to hit it with a baseball bat, now if I get mad I hit the kill button.

No, I don't get physically violent, I do shout at it sometimes though, usually "come on"! (tones of Jeremy Paxman on University Challenge)
