Which of the two were the women in "The Wicker Man"?

I think the Wicker Man was loosely (very loosely) based on ancient Celtic and Druid beliefs, not Wicca. Wicca is a relatively new (around for the last 60 years or so) religion. The Celts and the Druids held human sacrifices, the Wiccans do not. There are similar beliefs in both religions (mainly because the Wicca religion draws from many ancient religions), but they are not one and the same.

Druidism is an ancient tradition that predates Wicca. Wicca has some similar practices but are not exactly the same. You have to be more specific about which women in The Wicker Man you are referring to. Also, witches are not the same as Wiccans. Some Wiccans may be magical but so could others from other religions. Magical ability is not exclusive to Wicca. Not all wizards are Wiccan or religious at all for that matter.

Depends on what branch of Druidism you're referring to.

Romantic Druids came around prior to Wicca. While some of these groups have picked up some stuff from Wicca (and perhaps a bit vice versa, as well), they've got different roots.

Some of the modern neo-Druid groups have some Wiccan influence, varying by group; some are little more than "Wicca-in-a-kilt", whereas others show no (or almost no) influence.

Modern Druidry (ADF for example) is very similar to Wicca and vice versa, as they come from the same source material.

Ancient Druidism has nothing to do with either.

The Wicker Man is a movie, not based on any of these things, but on Urban legend.

Wicca was dreampt up in the 1930's by an ex-member of the Hermetic Order of The Golden Dawn. It has nothing to do with the druids Caeser talked about: in essence it is a Kabbalah/Alchemy hybrid dressed up in pseudo-celtic robes: not that this is a wrong thing to do, but pretending it has anything to do with the druids, or the motivations behind the construction of stonehenge (which wasn't built by druids anyway:- predates the celtic invasion of western europe by 1500 years at least) is, quite frankly, horseshit.

Similar, but not the same. I don't know about the Wicker Man, I'm afraid. Not into that kind of unnecessary villifying.

They are similar in that they are both Earth-based spiritual paths. If you're talking about the new version of "The Wicker Man", I BEG you to please watch the original version! I have heard that the new one was turned into this major horror movie with no realism at all. I refuse to watch it.

I don't know about The Wicker Man, but Druids are to Wicca as priests are to Catholics- Druids were the actual holy men and Wicca was the belief system.
