It is with sadness that I have to say that my mom have passed away two days ago. She had a problem with her hip and got operated on. She was immobile and were left to die of dehydration by the people that were supposed to care for her. They could not bother to give her water to drink? I am so angry and sad at the moment. I will be in SA in the next few days and someone is going to pay for this.

This was in an expensive private care, I shudder to think what happens in places where people are even more unfortunate and have to rely on government payed care. I'm on my way via Frankfurt and and whilst waiting for my connecting flight, the most vengful ideas come to mind. How can this happen?

Darth....

My family had to go through a similar situation when my aunt died. She had no other family and after months of paperwork and court appearances, her death was said to be of "unnatural cause".

I am deeply saddened by your loss. You are a good friend, even if it's just by means of Yahoo that we communicate. Please accept my heartfelt sympathies for your loss. My thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

A mother is a source of inspiration to anyone and such a loss is not a mere funeral one has to attend. I pray that you will find comfort in knowing that she is no longer in any pain.

George

Hello Darth Vader, please accept my condolences. This is never the kind of reason one needs to return home. I try to imagine how you feel, it must be very frustrating, knowing that there is not much one can do now. May you have strength to endure this tragedy. But, at the moment, I think, you want to punch the next nurse or doctor in the face when you see them.
I had a friend whose wife went into a state hospital for an hysterectomy and she passed away because some idiot had not given her the thrombosis prophylactic injection after the op.
This is however, not the kind of error one expects from a private hospital.

Theres multiple different systems of health care- Obama's plan is to make the capitalist market work by using a public option to break the insurance company cartel. The insurance companies are scared of having to work to make money, instead of just dropping coverage and avoiding the sick people. Simple. Go capitalism, go free markets, go Obama !!!!

I'm so sorry to hear of your mom's passing. It's most unfortunate that due to some lazy individual's negligence people loose their loved ones. Unfortunately such gross negligence is evident in private hospitals also. Just get a thorough investigation done.

Something similar happend a few months ago to Zim $ when he lost his sister, during the public sector strike.

I am so sorry for your loss and to have to come back to SA like this is so sad. I agree with you how could they do that, just not care, it is mocking the very values and codes they swear an oath to uphold - i pray you find them and you make them pay. If i were in your shoes i would talk to Freek Robinson at out SABC2 television station and have him investigate and expose them because they deserve it. Good luck and God bless

Sorry for your loss, ou Darth. Wraakgedagtes is seker in hierdie omstandighede normaal, oor jy ver was en magteloos voel oor jy niks aan die tragiese gebeure kon doen nie. Maar probeer eers al die feite kry.

Very sorry to hear about your loss. I'm sure your memories of her will sustain you as you move forward. Though death should always be expected, it is disheartening if that is cause by human failure. I know that you are going to miss her voice, her smile and her advice to you, but I hope you take solace in knowing that she gave birth to a son, who grew to be a man of principle. I never met you, but I know you from your postings here and I’m convinced that she instilled good values in you. Like others said, be strong; even now you should know that you don’t walk alone, in spirit we are with you..^^^)))((((

If it was a goverment hospital than what did you expect, our minister of health is a drunk thief,

But if it was a private hospital you can stir up some heat

my advice is get some media involvement then you'll get more answers

Hello Mate,
Please accept my deepest condolances and will think of you in these difficult times. It is even more shocking to read that this happened in a private hospital. They are usually OK.
Keep well my friend and give them hell. I would too. God bless.
