I don't hate them, esp. as I will eventually finish this teaching degree and become one, but have come across a few as both a parent and a college student that should not be teaching anyone. Some are cruel to kids with special needs, escalate behaviors, and refuse to even read the IEP. A few just put their time in; they're burnt out from all the rotten behaviors and ridiculous administrative demands, so they are just waiting to be old enough to retire.

I've had a few that just CAN'T teach! This is especially frustrating when, as a college student, I'm paying big bucks for the class. My physics prof is making all of us batty. One thing I really disapprove of, thus will try very hard not to do as a teacher, is the double standard on work. Students must turn everything in on time to get credit, but some profs. don't return anything until 10 weeks into the term! This makes it a bit difficult to improve and grow as we learn.

Most teachers are great. They certainly don't do it for the respect, recognition, or the money. Try to see them as people that truly want to help you.

I don't hate all teachers, but I did find that there were some who couldn't teach.

Of the teachers that were incompetent, I didn't like those that never got to the point (i.e. they never highlighted important facts).

For example, teachers that use some obscure analogy that I can't relate to, to make some minor point that isn't in the curriculum.

There are other defective characteristics of past teachers that I've encountered, but I'll leave that for another time.

Why would anyone hate a teacher? Look at what the title "teacher" implies: one who teaches, instructs, or gives knowledge.

The men and women who do this for a living are just as important as the soldiers who protect your country. They are just as important as the medical community that heals you when you get sick. They are just as important as the farmers who bring you something to eat. Without a teacher, you wouldn't even know how to type your question--you wouldn't even know what typing is!

Bad teachers shouldn't make you hate teachers, they should make you appreciate the good ones even more!

Well being that I am a teacher, I kinda dont like your question. Most of the time we spend our own money to decorate our classrooms, and buy little treats for our students. we come in early and when students leave at 3 p.m. we are there until 5 or 5:30 p.m. we have to read the books we use to teach out of so that we know our material and again spend our money to buy extra reading materials and things so that our students might find the work interesting. we have to go to college for 6 years to teach and take a licensing test in order to teach. and in some states our starting salary is low. (between 30 and 40 thousand) for new teachers. we have to deal with students who dont appreciate us and in a lot of cases are cursing at us, and parents that sometimes side with kids who are disrespectful. so that is what teachers do while you are asking this question. maybe think of all the nice things that teachers do for you and the community.

Nothing! Teachers are well-educated, underpaid individuals who daily have to put up with: state and federal guidelines and bureaucracies; children who choose not to learn because they cannot see the importance of education to their futures; parents who are apathetic, yet want you to turn their "genius" into a functioning societal member; administrators who have been out of the classroom for too many years and don't have an idea of what's going on "in the trenches;" resource guidelines that require that a student be 3 years behind grade-level before they can receive any additional help in order to succeed, allowing you to give up all your personal time to come in early and stay late to tutor these children for free, while all the while your job hinges on the test score of these children! I can see why we should be hated - we have such an easy job! We should be envied!!!

I don't hate anything about teachers. They deserve a lot of credit just for putting up with the kind of student I was. And I wish I could meet some of the teachers I had so I could thank them for all that they did for me.

Oh wow, thats a very interesting question. Firstly, I dont really hate them, since my mother's a teacher too! ;p But actually it also depends on the teacher. Sometimes I just hate their personality, or the boring way they teach, or also because they give too much homework! There are also teachers that I think are too fierce and too strict, therefore I don't feel comfortable around them, and therefore have no desire whatsoever to please them. (Therefore I dont. ;p )

First off, I like more teachers than I hate. But the ones I do hate, I hate for many reasons. The biggest reason is when they think they are above you. I hate it when they act like they are better than you, and they belittle you and make you feel inadequate or stupid.

the easier question would be what do you like about them?

....anyway .. what i hate most about the teacher ... when he thinks big of himself ... and that he is the master and all students are his slaves ....

if a teacher respect his/her students and consider them as people with personalities and opinions ... and that one day each would be something important .... this would be the perfect class to be in ....

if he is respectable enough ... he shouldn't worry about teaching :)
