I could easily turn 100K into all the $$ I would need, assuming that is after taxes. My family of 3 currently lives on under 40k a year. I would invest most of it. Currently I don't work though as I am a stay at home dad until my job starts back in January, so that would be a dilemma.

If given the choice, the more money in this case a million dollars, is preferable to less money, in this case one hundred thousand dollars. If after getting the million, I for some reason decided I wanted to have less money, I could always give the difference away, but I would not be able to get the additional nine hundred thousand if I decided that taking the one hundred thousand was the best move.

Yes, I would. I don't make much at my Job. With the money I could invest in a good potter's wheel, kiln, new camera, and developer. I would be in heaven! I would return to where I use to work and visit because I really like my co-workers.

Assuming that the $100K was tax free, I would use it to finish my education, reinvent a few things and charge ahead.
Actually, I have done just that!

I would. With 100K I'd be able to start a new career.

Considering the fact that it will take me about 15 years to make $100,000 I could handle quitting my job for that. You making an offer?
But then again, I am the janitor at a church/preschool. I consider my job to be a service to God. So I probably wouldn't quit.

at the rates of inflation these days, i;d say that's a big risk to take! i'd rather stick to my own job (i don't have one yet, this is hypothetical) and build up on a really impressive resume and gain some experience ... the one thing inflation can't ruin!
