I think it's the opposite. I have the girl cat and my wife has the tom. Seems like I see that a lot. Couldn't tell you why.

No. I don't believe this. I own a parrot - this particular species is not sexually dimorphic, but I think it's (probably) a cockbird. Same thing applies to amazon parrots; they also need to be surgically sexed or dna sexed. A hen is preferable because the cockbird can become VERY aggressive when they go into their springtime hormonal overdrive. They can become extremely dangerous.

I think that responsible pet owners look at behavioral characteristics which can vary - alot - from one sex to the other. This is probably the case in cats and dogs too. Male animals tend to be more aggressive than female animals. The male 'dog humping' thing, for example - is just super annoying...

I choose Males dogs because they dont cost as much to nueter and they dont have as difficult recovery. I also like that males tend to be a bit more aggressive/protective.

I have been told that males cats are more loving than female... I have had both and couldnt tell any difference. again they are also cheaper and esier to nueter

Well, ive always had male pets except one.. I dont know why I just have. And I can think of way more boy names for pets than female pets.

Uh, no. I tend to pick the animals that I connect with best. Most of the cats I've had in my life, including childhood cats, were males. They're actually cheaper to neuter than spay. Still, I do have a girl now and she's the love of my life.

It seems to me that that is very true. I am not real sure of the reason though. Maybe because we ( as women) have sympathy for the female dog when she is giving birth.
I hope that this makes some sort of sense.

I prefer female pets to males. Dogs that is, the just seem easier to train.

With me I allow the pet to choose me; for those make the best companions.

It depends. I like to do some research. Certain species, like labs and pugs, tend to have more aggressive females than males. I just tend to go with what's less likely to be aggressive.
