I think Benitez's scenario is similar with Jol where you come step into a team and change many things and once the provide you with the money you request to buy great players the team starts going down and down in terms of result.

I think Jol's situation is different because the money spent last summer was spent by the Director of Football on player's Jol did not want.

This will be a big season for Benitez but Liverpool would be crazy to fire him yet.

Far from it. Benitez has achieved, Jol simply improved his team to a point, but Jol suffered from the incompetence of his chairman and his players. Benitez is not in fear of losing his job.

Difficult to say.The thing is,Liverpool Team Officials haven't been in foreign climbs chatting to continental managers in cafes! .....Or if they have, they've been more discreet about it than Tottenham were!!
Like Jol at Tottenham a few weeks ago, things will have to improve at Liverpool sooner rather than later, otherwise I reckon Benitez will be the next Premiership Managerial casualty. ...But then,...that's the cut-throat world of Football Management. i.e. ..If you don't 'produce the goods',you're out! .It's as simple as that!!

benitez has at least won trophies, but when you are a big club, you need performance, and wins, he seems to be upsetting fans and players in equal measure, if they dont pick up soon, his head will roll, and gerrard will wield the axe, hes a good player for liverpool, but like a lot of 'great'premiership players, he thinks he has too much power

nothing like it. 2 champions league finals in three years is over-achieving for liverpool - spurs are under-achieving
