Just want a BALLPARK FIGURE....?
how much would it cost to actually identify, round up and deport every illegal immigrant and add to that the dollars lost by businesses that provide services. then add the cost of replacing those workers. just a ballpark figure, is it really cost effective?

The added cost to identify, round up and deport would be variable at this point, because deportation does nothing. Most of these people will just recross the border at the first opportunity, so it is a never ending cycle unless we start with better boarder control.

The cost to businesses of lost labor is not a factor. Businesses that go out of their way to employ illegal immigrants should be shut down, as they are breaking the law. Businesses that hire people without knowing that they are illegal will just hire someone else. The cost of replacing the workers is no more than the typical costs associated with normal turnover. There is no added cost beyond what already exists.

Essentially, if we have better boarder enforcement, and actually fine and punish businesses that go out of their way to hire illegals, the costs are almost non-existent.

If we try to deport every illegal immigrant without those measures, the costs can become nearly infinite.
