I was beat by my EX (while we were still together). I called the police because I was pregnant and when the police got there, they had to kick my door down and found him on top of me beating me.. He caused me to have a miscarriage. But he did go to jail and I did press charges and went to every court date to make sure he didn't get out. Never spoke to him again, never want to speak to him again.

When a man hits a woman just once and she still hangs around, he will do it again. Each time it will get worse. I saw a very young woman in a nursing home. Her parents were visiting her and beside her bed was a picture of a beautiful girl. It was their daughter who had been beaten so badly she was a vegetable laying there. This all caused by a man who beat her. Get out. This goes for male or female, cause some women have violent tempers too.

I unfortunately can add to the number of being hit. I had two children by him, and he was very abusive to me in front of them. It took me 8 years to work up the courage to leave him, and when I did my two boys were 2-3. I haven't been with him for 5 years now,,,and it is AWESOME,,,,,, I used to feel really sad for my boys that they were growing up without a father, but I am their Mommy and Daddy, and it works for us. He has not seen his kids in 4 1/2 years, and does not pay his child support, so ya know, He will look back on all of these years one day, when they are grown, and wonder why they want nothing to do with him...they know he hit me and they remember,,,and have alot of bad feelings towards him especially since he does not try to change his life and see them,,,he continues to do drugs, and steal and go in and out of jail,,,and he makes that choice everyday,,,just as I make the decision to get up @6:00 and get ready for work,,,get my boys up at 7:00 get them ready for school, to leave @7:30, and me to be to work at 9:00, and get off at 5:00, and come home cook, do the baths, homework, dinner, play, and be a loving parent, and give them the stability that they need and deserve,,,and he chooses to lead the life he does,,,I have no sympathy for him or any other dead beat father, and I think that they will all get what they deserve one day,,,and it will come from the look in their children's faces when they want nothing to do with them ,,, the same way their fathers did them!!!

Thanks,.

i was hit by a classmate, a boy punched me in the arm and just left, i know this doesnt count but, i think men who abuse deserve to be marked, i dont see how anybody can have the gutts to hit someone else like that, especially getting on top of a woman and strangling her and beating her into a bloody corpse, what is wrong with people you wonder?

they are not human in my book, maybe if they were thrown into a pack of lions they would teach those men some lessons

been with my husband 10 years, he hit me once in this entire 10 years and left a bruise on my arm. he was drunk! i think it has something to do with testosterone, men are more violent than women. i didnt leave him, he never did it again. but if it is something that has happened more than once i would say leave leave leave, my uncle was an abuser, he abused every woman he was ever with. i witnessed it through my whole childhood, it is hereditary and mental disorder. he will never ever change

My EX decided he could. And if we lived near each other, I think he would look over his shoulder every minute. At first I forgave him. Next, I told him that he had to sleep sometime. And He had better worry. I took my two young sons and moved far away. He saw the boys 1 time( his choice) since I left. That was 20 years ago. He paid 1 year of child support. And I made sure my sons knew all about it. When they got into their teens. Now, he has tried to see them. Oldest son (3,then) is not sure if he wants too. Youngest (1 1/2 then) told him he would hurt him if he came near me, or my son's family.

We come across this story (man beating wife/woman)every day in the news papers. Some magazines make money by elaborately explaining hit by hit story in their columns. Dowry, strained relationship, sex, alcohol, jealousy, power etc. are the contributing factors. I think this is happening in all societies in spite of their social standing.

My ex shoved me and broke me collar bone. I kicked him out and changed the locks. Got an answering machine and never talked to him again. Not even when I took him to court. People are not made to be treated in a bad way. Respect yourself. Don't ever let anyone do something physical or talk to you in a bad manner. Everyone deserve to be treated like a human, not an animal.

before i met my hubby i was with a guy for 3 years, then one night he was upset for some reason and hit me across the face, I walked out and never went back,I truly believe there is never a good enough reason to stay if there is violence.and also it was the first time and the last

A long time ago... (11 years now). Was so hard to leave... but was given no choice in the end. Glad I got out of it though, my life is a whole lot happier. He has always wanted me back... but I have moved on and am happily married. He told me he has regrets - but he lives with them. It's all good now. :)
