California just experienced a powerful earthquake. Please send your positive good wishes to our fellow yahoo answer folks that they are safe!

Apparently the news made it sound much worse than the answerers here experienced! Still, I am glad everyone is safe and a few prayers and good thoughts never hurt anyone!

I just pray that all those affected will be in good spirits even though the disaster happens as long as no life is lost.Life is too precious when some natural disaster strikes,but if there is help from the proper agencies will be available.Here in Australia we have our moments of disaster like last friday fierce storm was like a mini tornado that lifted cars, industrial roof by the strong winds of 140 kph& isolated severe storm happens in every state at this springtime Oct.summer is dec.

they say it occured at 8:04 pm. Hmmm. I came home from work, ate a quick dinner and left to gym at 7:45. I stay at the intersection of Sunnyvale and San Jose and my gym is in San Jose downtown, at 8:04 I must be on 880 southbound how funny, I was on my way to San Jose downtown and I didnt feel a thing. But I guess folks inside buildings must have felt it. My feelings and thoughts will be with those affected by this.

It wasn't that bad, I am only about 10 miles from the epicenter. It was just kind of a rolling one. I don't think there was much damage and no injuries. Now, the Loma Prieta earthquake of 1989, that was scary.
