I remember the commercial where the guy was singing Def Leppard's Pour Some Sugar On Me as "something shook up ramen..", or something of the sort. Ever done anything like that? I think my worst lyrical mistake was with the Kink's song Lola. I had thought it said "in a bathroom voice she said Lola..." That always confused me...I didn't understand how someone could have a "bathroom" voice. I didn't figure out the real lyrics until a few years ago, lol.

Apparently Bad Moon Rising and Purple Haze are the two most people get wrong.

My worst {and it was only a couple of years ago}, was this :~

In A Broken Dream

In the cover by Thunder, it sounds like :
"Decide my darling. Decide where you must be. You people all you make with romantic love"

Then I heard the Python Lee Jackson original, and it's :
"Did someone bow their head. Did someone break the bread. Good people are in bed before 9 o'clock"

I always end up singing along to songs regardless of whether I know the lyrics or not ~ I just sing what it sounds like to me!

The first few times I heard "Dirty Deeds Done sirt Cheap" I spent weeks trying to figure out what what a "dundercheep" was. It sounded like some Australin animal or something.

And I murder songs all the time but I can' think of any right now. I'm especially bad at this because most of the time I don't even listen to lyrics unless that's the strong point. I really only pay attention to the sound of it all, and so when I do decide to sing along it gets ugly.

Another one was before I was a Ramones fan (or knew they existed) I'd hear "Blitzkrieg Bop" on commercials and I always though the line "They're going through a tight wind" was "They're going through a tikewan" which was possibly short for some kind of tae quan do. And "They're piling in the back seat" I could just never remember and sang "They're going through the backstreet" instead.

WOW! I though Ray was singing that too! I thought it was echo like or something, lol

My biggest one actually turned out to be a pretty famous one, CCR's Bad Moon Rising, I heard "there's a bathroom to the right". It really didn't make sense. And Steve Miller Band's Jungle Love. I heard "Chug a Lug, Strawberry man, he's driving me crazy". Doesn't flow well does it? lol.

I got the Red Hot Chili Peppers album - Blood Sugar Sex Magik when I was like 10, its only been in the last couple of years when I've been singing along that I have realised - thats not what hes saying!

I was innocently thinking he was saying sweet stuff - I know better now!

"with my heart all bleeding" in Sir Psycho Sexy is really "with my hardon bleedin'"

and in mellowship slinky in b major, i thought it was "I do adore Isabella" - aww how sweet - no its "I do the dog with Isabella"

The one that sticks out to me:

7th Grade - "More Than Words" by Extreme was a huge hit on the radio, and everytime I heard it, the part where he sings "Da day da da da da day da" I kept thinking he was saying "Diet Pepsi". I think it had to do with how many diet pepsi commercials were out during the early 90's. True story.

there are a number of reasons why pop is usual. initially, enormous checklist labels will sell it like loopy everywhere. additionally, teenagers will pay attention to usual music because of the fact they think of doing so will cause them to usual to boot. finally, i think of it it the music for individuals who are not intense approximately music. people who do not want to make the attempt to genuinely "hit upon" diverse artists and discover stuff they're going to like. Who will basically pay attention to appropriate 40 songs.
