I am looking to try LSD for the first time soon. I know its very powerful and to have a clear mind before taking it. Problem is, i am hardly ever at ease, i do suffer from some depression and i am usually always stressed. So my mind is hardly ever clear. Is this going to be a problem? I also have not done any other hallucinogens. But my friends keep telling me about acid and have me all amped up to try it. So my question is, what do i need to know about LSD for my first time? and also, what are the odds of me having a bad trip?

If you insist on taking LSD you must make sure you are in an absolutely safe environment with no stress or demands upon you. You need 10 to 12 hours and then another 8 to sleep. Make sure you are doing it with at least one other person who has tripped before. Make sure you are with people you like, and who care about you. Make sure the acid has been tested recently by someone more experienced. Dirty acid leads to bad trips. One of the keys to not having a bad trip is not worrying about having a bad trip. You have to control your thoughts while dosing. If you start to feel badly, you must think about something else. Never forget while you are dosing that the trip willl eventually go away. Good luck. It's been a long time since I took the ride. If you can relax and surrender to the flow you will be okay. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, don't. Sit back and drink and watch your friends trip instead. It will be amusing.

Tomorrow Never Knows

Turn off your mind, relax
and float down stream
It is not dying
It is not dying

Lay down all thought
Surrender to the void
It is shining
It is shining

That you may see
The meaning of within
It is being
It is being

That love is all
And love is everyone
It is knowing
It is knowing

That ignorance and hate
May mourn the dead
It is believing
It is believing

But listen to the
color of your dreams
It is not living
It is not living

Or play the game
existence to the end
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning
Of the beginning

It is always different, everytime.
First, be with people you know and trust.
Second be in a place you are use to, and familiar with.
Third do not Do Not smoke or eat or sniff or shoot anything else.
Be prepared for anything and keep it in your mind that it is just a trip.
You could see just about anything, feel it all over the top.
People will look strange, maybe cartoon character, maybe demons.
You wanna take the chance. I can't stop you.
Stay away from roof tops. This is FREAKING IMPORTANT!!!
There is some bad acid out there my friend, I have seen the adverse reactions. Some people I knew are now dead. One lost her mind and just sits.. on the subway, riding back and forth, looking like Tami Baker. Two, took a header off the campus res, and one just died, while we all watched, too stoned to know what was happening.
You'd be better off just forgetting about it, but like loose change said you probably will do it anyway. I won't wish you good luck. Your chances are 50/50

You don't want to try it. This is coming from someone who has done it, and I know many other people who have done it. First off, if you are stressed easy, and often depressed, this can EASILY lead to a bad trip. There is nothing worse than a bad trip on acid. And like the others said, when you are on acid, you don't recognize that you are just having a bad trip. It feels like reality to you. There is no escaping it, it is the most terrifying horrible feeling, and it haunts you. Second, one of the people I knew who tried it almost died. Not from the drug itself, but from what it made him do. I don't know what physical impact it has on a person's body, but I know it can't be good. But psychologically, it is extremely powerful, and very dangerous. When my friend was on acid he decided that he was going to drive somewhere, I have no Idea where he was wanting to go. But he got in his car and drove 90 miles per hour down a main street. He somehow ended up driving off the side of the road into a ditch and hit a tree. His car flipped 5 times, landing right on top of him. He had to go to the hospital, and nearly lost his life. He spent many many months in the hospital. They had diagnosed him with all kinds of psychological disorders because they didn't know what was going on with him, and he was too scared to tell them he was on acid. He didn't want to get in trouble. He is okay now, but has scars all over his face, arms, chest and sides. And when you get an idea in your head to do something, no matter How crazy it is, when you're on acid, there is no way in talking you out of it, you are going to do it, and it might be something life threatening. I really don't think you should try acid. If you are into getting high, stick with weed. Acid is just too powerful. I don't smoke weed anymore either, but I do think it is better than the alternatives.

The odds of you having a bad trip are very good. There is a lot of stuff you work through in that dimension, and it can be a very, very scary place. I figure you're gonna do it anyway no matter what I say, so, a good way to experience the changes is to put on headphones and listen to music. Go within yourself, because the without (police sirens in the distance, TV noise, baby crying) might be creepy and totally weird. If you do have a good trip you will have had some insight into the untapped dimensions of this universe that not many people ever see. It's just that you're gambling with what could be 8 hours too much information.

Don't do it, trust me. I did it a few times and had some very, very bad trips; once I was up for three days and unable to go home. Never slept, got so psycho I was driving my friend nuts and when it finally wore off I slept for two days. Plus, you have flashbacks. The bad trips are very, very real...when you go through one, there is no other reality; you aren't outside yourself thinking Oh well, it's just a bad trip because you aren't able to differentiate. It is a very powerful drug. If you disregard my advice and go ahead, make sure you have some tranquilizers handy in case you do have a bad trip; you can take them to sleep thorugh the worst effects.
I was at my brother's house way up in a secluded canyon and it was getting dark; he left me and went back into the house and I stayed on the hillside and for the next several hours, in the dark, had truly horrific visions that were very very real and I remember them to this day.
Please reconsider and don't feel pressured by your friends, do what feel right for you.

I have been with friends who have taken it on a few occasions. I have been told that if you have "skeletons in the closet" or mental issues, then you might want to not take it, as it will bring them out. It lasts about 8-10 hours although the most intense part comes an hour or so from the start from what I gather when you are "peaking" or under the maximum effect. I watched my friends when they were on a particularly strong batch one time and it made me a little wary of ever taking it, as even the most experienced among them was sweating and acting very strange.

OK, first of all, it's all in the set and setting. Stay home/safe with a few close, trusted friends. Avoid drunk people, you'll be on a totally different plane from them. As for a bad trip, well...ya never know. As The Doctor once said, "You buys your ticket and you takes the ride". It'll probably be fun, though. If you have access to valium/klonopin/xanax, you might want to keep some handy as a parachute if things go wrong.

The bad trip odds are pretty high, If you use drugs that means the devil won, do not give in to the old devil, you are stronger than that. Real men don't need drugs to hide behind. Face the world head on. In the end drugs lead you to jail or hell. Take your pick, I suggest you skip both of them and get control of your life before you lose it.

You could totally freak out. It happens. But then you do come down.

Have a good trusted friend, who is not using, bee with you.

Get out in nature, a calm green place. Avoid most other people. They will be too strange to be around.

Pay attention to your body. Pay attention! Breathe.

You will be fine.

"Set and Setting". Be someplace happy.

Stop worrying. You will be more relaxed and able to handle things. Don't get too wrapped up in the details.

Spirals and clairity. Happy and fun.

And don't let them pressure you too much.
