We moved from Italy in january an live in my aunts apartment , on 3th floor. We have had mice problems for 5 months and we had the exterminator come already 4 times. All they do is just put stick traps and some kind of poison, but the more traas we put the more we see them rrunning in the house. We only caught 1 small mouse in 6 months and tonight i saw a big one. I am feeling discouraged and depressed. I can't sleep and I can't eat. I use to live on a mountain in Italy but they don t have mice in the house there.... I am very disgusted and stressed out from this situation. I also suffer from anxiety and have many anxiety attacks so this disgusting situation is really bothering me a lot....
I can't live like that anymore and we can't afford to move!. We have traps everyhere like glue boards, but mice avoid them!!!!

try this, first find the point of entry .stuff the entry space with steel wool .put out the old fashioned traps with a little peanut butter instead of cheese the glue strips and poisons as you are experiencing don't work as well . make sure you bag the dead mice and expose of them properly . clean areas they have been with bleach then again with bleach left on for 10 min. to disinfect the area . hope this helps , good luck!

Can you get a cat, or have one spend time in your apartment? That is the greatest and easiest deterrent to mice. Even if the cat's not a great hunter, it will chase the mice and scare them away.
Otherwise, go over your apartment carefully and plug all the cracks and holes through which a mouse could come. This is time consuming, but effective.

Try mint. We had mice, traps w/peanut butter caught them but they kept coming. For several years I've been pulling up mint growing outside back door b/c it attracts bees. Happened to see connection between mice disliking smell of mint, now I know why previous owners planted so much mint there. If you can't plant it, get liquid peppermint or similar and put it across the entrance point, or try cayenne pepper. Also block with crumbled aluminum foil, it hurts rodents' teeth.
