The more I scrape, the more strings come. When do you stop scraping? Does it just keep coming?

When the pumpkin starts to moan and turns to you and says "I think my insides are all gone."

Just get the center junk out - it should be obvious what's "kept", meaning the flesh, and what's discarded, meaning the stringy stuff.

I've found a heavy spoon helps me clear our a pumpkin real quick, heavy because it doesn't bend. If you cut a decent sized top, it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes at the very most, if not half that, when you get good at it. Big heavy spoon + big scrapes = done real quick.

And as for technique, since no one's judging, I just scrape all along all sides, and dump it at the end. No need to be dainty about it. Just scrape and dump.

You can thin it out as much as you want. It can be only skin and glow all over.
