I don't think as humans we will be able to close the past out entirely because its not in our nature.
We can't even live in the friggin present because we are so
busy thinking of the past and future.
I say we concentrate on today so we can bring a better tomorrow.

Sure, every 7-10 years we have to reevaluate where we are. Are we still holding onto the past to where it impedes the future......old relationships, old thinking, regrets. The past can also illuminate and be the cornerstone for the future......we have to decide what is healthy and what is not.
Problem is the past can come back and bite you in the hindquarters, ask any politician. These days the past is never completely gone.

Do you know that this planet earth and the infinitesimal universe IS AN OPEN WIDE DOOR and only man is the known specie so rational and has the unlimited capacity to know how to open the way, the path to tract it all to man's possible perceptive to perfective genius abilities...."Mathew said: be ye therefore perfect for your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
Man therefore is perfectible !!!!!!!but un-reaching even the glimpse of the Creator while still in human form. Must be same in spirit form! Simplify in same units of measure to arrive a correct conclusion or solution. Mathematics said so!
As long as the mind of man is continuing progressively developing...the future is not a worrying pieces of consciousness and achieving links...so progressively onward opening new avenues and multi macro and micro networks mind waves and webs of discoveries towards now unimaginable paths to the future so vastly open for the time of man is so seemingly fast but worry not 'cause the Creator's time is just slow to be patiently waiting for man's free decision to trend.
Finite never infinite. In matter with just time and space but limited, 'cause it definite, degenerates ultimately.
In the Writing inspired by the Creator, one day to God is a thousand years to man+ or -....approximation....and God's eyes is just all around despite happily dwellings in His own heavenly land. Unreachable if you're in matter form.
Therefore, the ability and power of man to close the past is an idea of definite fallacy....IMPOSSIBLE...AMONG ALL MAN'S CAPABLE POSSIBILITIES...want to ask me why?
If MAN is not the OWNER of the PAST (even the past beyond the existence of man, BEFORE man ever see the light, that divides the day and night) HOW CAN MAN DISPOSE THE PAST...HE HAS NO HOLD on his hands...even in his mind???
Logic dictates...you cannot ever dispose something you own NOT. The next Q is who owns the past....? If you are a good believer of God...then its foolish for you to ask that...for simple Q begets simple A...so definite the Creator of all and even man. GOD...a vacuum and empty thoughts of the atheist and agnostic. Conversely God see them nothing.
For it is written and prophesied ....The Creator shall end the future and the past shall never and ever shall anymore be part of man's lucky few to joint Him in His Paradise, memory absolutely lapse. Death is physical and spiritual. Spiritual in the sense, even your still physically alive you can be dead in the eyes of God.....because of willingness to sin against God.
There is no truth of small or big sin...sin is sin whether man may categorize it in his own level so lowly thinking. Sin is simply a violation of God's command. One or ten is no difference to God. One sin or ten sins is same to God, your dead.
You may think that you only violated a simple God's command, engrossed in too much drunkenness... but one it may seem but so willingly you repeated violating His one command, then you're DEAD TO HIS EYES, THE SAME, WHEN YOU KILL WILLFULLY one or nth.
You may ask, why Johnny is saying this, and seem to far away deviating from your Q...No, this is very much related and pertinent to your Q,,,,you cannot know, discern, and decide if man is capable of closing his past and only endlessly course the future....both you must know if you can own that which I am telling you NOW, no!!!
Because you lack understanding of YOUR ORIGIN and the complete, at least within your perception of your Creator as far as the only one source of the Secret of His Spiritual Being is out of your total reach to comprehend, because you have not given much time to search it and know it...the BIBLE.
So the source of your A is simply, the BIBLE. Man is just a traveler on this earth planet...you shall pass once and shall no more know what is there ahead of you nor learn totally the secrets of the beyond pasts......Gud day!
