uh...no, a liberal teacher wouldn't fail you because of a different viewpoint. but it doesn't matter anyways since they are right and anyone who thinks otherwise is wrong

Saying the Iraq War is justified qualifies as brainwashing? Sorry, but that is just laughable.
I highly doubt he said "we should kill people for nothing" you are probably misconstruing his words. Which students do a lot.
Are you sure he failed the essay because of a "different opinion"? I seriously doubt that.
Being able to defend ideology that you don't necessarily believe in is a part of Critical Thinking Skills that teachers like to instill on their students.
And yes, Liberal teachers do fail students for having different viewpoints. Case:
I turned an essay in, back when I was in college to my Political Science 104 (People and American Politics) class (that's lower division, like a Freshman class) and failed it. I turned the same essay in my Poli Sci 390 class (American Politics of the 21st Century) and got an A. I discussed it with the Professor from the latter, and he said that I had failed it before because of ideology... The 104 Professor ended up being fired due to her ideological grading.

U r kidding. I hear some biased stuff a lot, but that usually comes from the left-no kidding. You want to be brainwashed? Watch CNN and believe every word that Dobbs said. I dont have a problem with teachers expressing their views, but to be fair, they gotta allow for debate. My professor does that a lot, so its all cool. Look into the republicans and their stances-no kidding (i do teh same for Dems). You will find that most of us arent far-right wing or fascist or whatever some of the idiots on here try to call us. do research. Slogans like 'pro-choice' are decieving, because it doesnt really address the issue of abortion, which is a life and death issue more than a choice/no choice issue. Simple stuff like that throws off a lot of people. Why? they dont do their research. they take peoples' words for granted and just believe them. Be smart, look at both sides and compare the facts and figures.

This Teacher is wrong to inflict person beliefs-
and no doubt there are too many of them!
Just like Parents have the power to influence
their children's minds -so do Teachers -
and not always for the best.
You should tell your parents and ask them to
speak to the Principal about this matter.
To those that have made light of what you said -ignore them -in Japan they were actually
writing History books that said THEY won the
war!
And what about those Taliban classes -and the
hatred incited in those children -
of course it is possible to be wrongly influenced
by any Teacher inflicting their personal opinions
on their Students. And some students do not have
the benefit of home discussion and therefore
could be taking these beliefs as Gospel!

It's wrong to indoctrinate anyone. You should present facts and let the students make up their own minds. I've never had a right wing teacher trying to brainwash me, but i have had a few liberal professors that attempt to turn the class into their own personal political soapbox.

Just play the game and get the best grade you can out of the class. Smile and give the answer your teacher wants to hear. It's all a paper chase for the diploma. You don't have to change your views, just smile and get through it. As long as you recognize the brain washing for what it is, you're OK.
If your teacher gave you an F because of your political views, have your parents go talk to the Principal of the school and get the grade changed.

I think personal opinions of teachers should be left out of the class room. However, what you are suggesting is that the first amendment be out lawed. So, I appreciate your dilemma but lets leave the little bit of the constitution that has not been torn up still in tact.

Yes, as well as extreme left wing teachers too.
In countries like Canada, there are some curbs on TV and the radio to rein in extremists.
Extremists have to provide a talking window where other views can be expressed ideally to help balance out the brainwashing.

You are naive and shallow if you think a teacher saying the war is "justified" qualifies as brainwashing. Over half of the higher learning institutes in this country lean so far left it's a wonder they don't collapse under the weight of their pretention. And you judge one teacher's opinion. If your brain is so easily manipulated, then perhaps the problem is with you, by the way... freedom of speech is protected and never "illegal". My advice... grow up.

I have never had a right-wing or left-wing teacher trying to indoctrinate me into any political belief.
they taught the facts, and allowed me to come to my own conclusions about them politically.
Anyone who believes in left-wing/right-wing teacher conspiracies, probably shouldn't be in school, or out in public for that matter.

Extreme left wing teachers have been doing it for years. Should that be illegal? Some times teachers just plane make things up. My own kids came home and told me that their teacher was teaching them about the "Civil War". It took me the longest time to get them to understand that the war she was talking about was actually the War of Federal Aggression.
Teachers should stick to reading, writing and math. Teacher should try to teach children to think for themselves.
