She was clearly unprepared as she fluffed the answer & contradicted herself which left an opening for Edwards attack on what he claims is her "double talk". Will this take away some of her brownie points?

edwinjoel22, while I agree with you, the problem is that she wasn't prepared & she didn't explain her position correctly and that's going to hurt her. You did a better job & you're not even a contender.

On the contrary, Hillary will come out of this 'Hillary is mortally wounded hate campaign by FOX News' stronger than ever.
And Obama and Edwards are going to regret their opportunistic attacks on her.
When loonies like FOX starting 'praising' Democrats (read Obama and Edwards) sane people start backing away from said Dems.
GO HILLARY!

I certainly don't think it helped her any and she probably lost a percentage of constituents with her answer. What Edwards refers to as "double talk" is what I call "staddling the fence". She certainly lost brownie points in the debate last night. And the fact that she was the only Democrat on stage at a podium who signed the "Iran proposition" didn't help her either. Dodd really called her on that one.

Unlicensed to Kill
While certain states allow illegal aliens to obtain licenses, others take no action as illegal aliens take to the roads without licenses. As traffic fatalities rise across the country, from accidents and hit-and-run incidents up 3.5 percent from 2000 to 20051 it is clear that the growing presence of illegal aliens is contributing to this problem.
Licensed to Kill
Ten states do not require lawful proof of presence for an applicant to obtain a driver’s license. These states are Hawaii, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wisconsin.2 Despite this, in these 10 states 14.4 percent of those who cause traffic fatalities are not licensed or improperly licensed, compared to the national average of 13.6 percent.
Hit-and-Run Drivers
Approximately 20 percent of all car accidents nationwide involve a driver who lacks a valid license.3 In the ten states with the highest concentration of illegal immigrants, (according to FAIR’s most recent estimates: California, Texas, New York, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Georgia, North Carolina, New Jersey and Colorado) 14.6 percent of driving fatalities are caused by an unlicensed or improperly licensed driver. Furthermore, the percentage of those killed by hit-and-run drivers is higher in these states, 6.1 percent compared the national average of 5.3 percent. Needless to say, because data on whether drivers were licensed or uninsured or inebriated can’t be collected on those who leave the scene of an accident, the data would likely show a higher incidence of unlicensed and uninsured drivers causing accidents if that data were available.
The Uninsured
Uninsured drivers are a growing problem across the country. The estimated national average for uninsured drivers involved in accidents in 2004 was 13.3 percent,4 up from 12.7 percent in 1999.5 However, the average share of uninsured drivers in the ten states where illegal immigrants are allowed to receive licenses is 13.9 percent. Even more telling, the average share of uninsured drivers involved in accidents in the top ten illegal immigrant states is a whopping 14.7 percent.

She's probably trying to get hispanic votes.
I noticed she is trying to appeal to everyone, which will in the end hurt her because it's impossible to have it all.
I just wish these candidates would stop promising things they won't do.

The fact that she gave two different answers to the same question in two minutes should please neither side of the immigration debate. She triangulated throughout the debate, and gave the impression she'd say one thing and do the opposite, just like Bush. I hope she lost a lot of poll points.

Gawd I hope so. She is showing her true socialist colors.
You were disappointed by her answer? Why? This is exactly what we can expect of her. Perhaps you should read the investigative reports from Judicial Watch located in Washington D.C. They are a group of lawyers who have been uncovering all kinds of things her and Bill have been discovered doing.
She is probably in cahoots with the insurance companies. Everyone who knows anything about carrier insurance can tell you your rates will be higher in areas there are illegal aliens driving. Our rates here in Houston are one of the highest.

It looks like she is going to be the candidate and on her worst day as president will be better than any Republican would be on HIS best day. The Republican candidates are a joke except for Ron Paul who, while also a joke, is honest.
