You don't. That is a hard question, one, I don't believe in soulmates, I think a person just meets someone they like, and then they grow to love them. And love grows strong over time, I think.

I read once that there is a tradition in India that says you have any number of "soulmates". Not that they are necessarily romantic, but are people in your life that you are bound to learn from and be with.
As far as a romantic soul mate goes, I agree with the folks here. It's hooey. Soulmate is just a flashy word for having a "one and only" and that truly does not exist. My husband and I laugh and say that we're sure there are a dozen people on the earth that we could be perfect with... but most of them are probably in China or something. The more you appreciate the one you love, the closer you'll become. I think you make your own soulmate.

A person does not have "one" soulmate. When you "click" with that special someone, use your common sense along with your heart when deciding to be in a relationship, then you will know they are your soulmate, whether it lasts a lifetime or less.

when you meet them, you know. it hits you like a ton of bricks, and then all signs just point to it no matter how much you ignore them. im sorry that there are so many people who no longer believe they have one. that is because they haven't found them. when you can talk to someone just by looking into their eyes, and walk into a room and just know how they are feeling, or they look into your eyes and know everything you are thinking, that is how you know you have found your soulmate

I believe there is more than one soulmate out there. but i believe you've found them when you want to be with them alll the time, and talk to them about everything. laugh, cry and everything,a nd can picture ur whole life with them, and cant picture it without them. If they're always on ur mind and in ur heart. Thats how i know i have my soulmate.

When you can ask yourself why you love them and come up with so many reasons you cannot count them all. When you cannot imagine life without them. They consume your heart and soul, infiltrate your thoughts and your dreams. They are intertwined with every facet of your life and they feel the exact same about you. you know all their faults and they know all of yours, yet you love each other more because of them.

I think everyone does, even though it's kind of hokey to say. How do you know when you've met them? I don't know, you just do. Give it time, I believe for every person there is someone.
