He moved far away, but he answered my letter two weeks before so he could drop it the post office near me. It was scented and he said he was moving back. Think it was more than just being polite?

Well it depends, is he moving back because of you?
But otherwise, yes, the fact that a GUY would make something smell good is a signal right there.
