Yeah, don't you just hate rap?

It's so materialistic-

"Changes" by Tupac. A song about wanting the world to be a better place...wow, we don't need people listening to this crap

It's so misogynistic

"Keep Ya Head Up" by Tupac. A song all about women? My god! Look at these lyrics from this song-

"I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women
Do we hate our women ?
I think it's time to kill for our women
Time to heal our women
Be real to our women"

It's bad for children-

Just like Nas's song "I Can", which motivates kids to stay away from drugs, and go get educated instead. This just makes me want to vomit!

Okay, end of satire.

My point being, there is good rap out there. The media and the industry mostly puts out the "bad" rap. Why? Because it sells, and they want to make money. If socially conscious rap was all the rage, then the industry would probably shelve the bad rap and put forth the good rap

Good point.
I think this happens with almost everything out there including
racial profiling and religion.
"Stereotypes" are hard to kill.
But I am glad that there are some open minded people out there that know better.

Rock isn't as bad as humans depict it to be either...

Haha, reading your question I thought you were serious at the beginning =)

You make a very good point about the "bad" rap selling, which is a shame because "good" rap really does have an honest message, whereas the bad is all just shooting, "hoes" and drugs. The "artists" just glamorize everything good and bad into one lump little fantasy, throw in a heavy bass track and market to middle class high school kids who have nothing better to do than imagine life growing up "in the hood".

Another appealing thing about the bad rap is that it isn't what parents want their children listening to. That immediately makes it more interesting, since the kids are trying to rebel and be independent.
